Perfect for true crime fans!

The Psychology Of Serial Killers

If you love nothing more than binging true crime docs on Netflix, then this new event is for you.

The hugely popular ‘Psychology Of Serial Killers’ talk is coming to Manchester this year, but you best be quick if you want tickets as it usually sells out.

It’s hosted by expert Jennifer Rees, who will debunk common serial killer myths – you may be surprised by what you learn.

During the talk, you’ll discover how serial killers are classified, the differences between lust killers like the BTK (Bind, Torture, Kill) Killer, and visionary killers such as David Berkowitz (Son of Sam).

Jennifer will explore different categories of serial killers, using case studies to illustrate, as well as discussing the typical differences between male and female killers – again using case studies.

You’ll also investigate the phenomenon of killer couples like Fred and Rose West, as well as local killers Ian Brady and Myra Hindley, who were responsible for the Moors Murders.

The talk will also delve into the Folie à deux syndrome, a.k.a ‘shared psychosis’, and you’ll also learn about Hybristophilia and the astounding case of the Night Crawler’s trial.

To answer the question ‘why do women fall in love with known serial killers?’ Jennifer will discuss the clinical knowledge surrounding why serial killers gain admirers, fan mail, and even spouses in light of their atrocious crimes.

And how common are homicidal fantasies? Have you ever fantasised about killing someone? You may be surprised by the results of the research on the subject.

You get to watch a fascinating time-lapse video of facial reconstruction on the skull of a discovered body, and about the identification of John and Jane Does – how are victims identified?

It’s coming to the BEC Arena, Manchester on Friday May 22nd, and you can get more info on the Facebook page here, and grab tickets from here.

The Immersive Abba Mia Drive-In Experience

ABBA fans are in for a treat, as a brand new immersive event featuring hits from the band is coming to Manchester next month.

The Immersive ABBA Mia Drive-In Experience will transport the good vibes of Greece to Manchester, spreading some joy after spending the past year locked-down in our homes.

If you fancy singing the night away, head down to the Trafford Centre on May 31st where you’ll be transported to the virtual island of Kalaraiki from the minute you drive in.

It starts with a virtual ferry trip over to the ‘island’, where Dancing Queens will get set for an evening of nostalgic fun, crammed full of back-to-back ABBA hits to sing along to.

Universal Pictures

According to the event description: “The show starts the moment you arrive! Your ticket will include a virtual car ferry trip over to the island of Kalaraiki, where you will park up to join the celebrations.

“You will be driving into the most unique theatre in the world, designed to be COVID compliant. Leave reality behind and sing along to some of Abba’s Greatest Hits presented under the cover of the largest marquee in Europe.

“You might want to dress up for the occasion as there will be prizes for the best-dressed family, couple and vehicle. Relax as you sit outside of your car in your own isolated space, take advantage of our waiter service and indulge in one of our famous alcohol-free island cocktails.”

The event is located underneath the largest marquee in Europe, meaning you’ll be sheltered from whatever the Mancunian weather throws at us.

It promises to offer a unique, summer-themed setting to get you in the Greek mood, complete with an island cocktail service straight to your car serving alcohol-free cocktails.

And thanks to the marquee you won’t have to hide in your car if it rains, as you can dance the night away and sing along with your bubble in your designated, socially distant seating area.

Tickets are now on sale with two events happening on May 31st – you can grab yours here.
