If you’re planning on heading to Blackpool anytime soon we’ve got some good news for you.

Blackpool Pleasure Beach is doing half price WOW Weekend wristbands again, meaning you can ride all your favourite roller coasters for super cheap.

If you’re feeling brave get yourself on ICON – the park’s newest ride and the UK’s first double launch roller coaster – which catapults you forward with the same acceleration as a Formula One racing car.

ICON cuts through classic rides The Big One, the Steeplechase and Big Dipper, giving a second burst of speed midway through – think I’ll give that one a miss then.

Families can head to the UK’s only Nickelodeon Land, where sprogs can meet their favourite characters – including PAW Patrol – and enjoy a whirl on SpongeBob’s Splash Bash or one of the other 11 rides.

The WOW Weekend offer means you can grab a wristband for just £19.50 when booked online in advance.

The offer is running from Saturday February 15th until Sunday March 29th, and the park will be open every weekend.

Slipknot have announced a massive headline show at Co-op Live in Manchester next year.

American heavy metal band Slipknot have announced their massive European and UK arena tour, Here Comes The Pain, set for next year.

The tour celebrates 25 years since the iconic band, who formed in 1995, first played Europe.

Slipknot will be performing at Co-op Live in Manchester on December 17th, 2024, and will be joined by special guests Bleed From Within for one epic night at Europe’s largest indoor arena.

Slipknot’s thrilling, multi-sensory live shows are known for being legendary so guests can expect the 25-year anniversary shows to be especially explosive and not-to-be missed.

Slipknot rapidly rose to fame following the release of their eponymous debut album in 1999. The 2001 follow-up album, Iowa, although darker in tone, made the band even more popular.

Like a spore out of the Midwest, these musical outliers have captured a Grammy Award alongside 10 nominations, scored 12 Platinum / 41 Gold album certifications around the world, and logged over 8.5 billion global streams and 3.5 billion video views to date – unprecedented for a rock act in this generation or any other. 

As well as their Manchester date next December, the metal giants will also perform in Leeds, Glasgow, Birmingham and London around the UK, once they’ve toured Europe.

Jungle legend Fabio and his longtime right-hand man Grooverider are coming to Manchester for one huge night of drum & bass.

The pair were at the forefront of the drum & bass scene as it exploded and developed their sound and partnership, playing at raves up and down the country, as it evolved into the globally-known genre it has become today.

The godfathers of the drum & bass have reinvented themselves and moved with the scene from where it all began in the acid house era, to their hugely influential London club night Rage at Heaven.

Widely recognised as the pioneers of the music they have been making their mark since 1988 and continue to be beacons in the underground scene.

The legendary duo are set to play at the Manchester Academy on Saturday, January 13th.

Playing alongside The Outlook Orchestra, together they will present a very special score celebrating a history of jungle and drum & bass.

Exploring classic anthems in ways never before experienced – sparking the imagination of generations of music lovers, the show will feature outstanding orchestral renditions of the scene’s most iconic and well-loved tracks.

A Cinderella pantomime is coming to Manchester’s Contact Theatre for laughs, songs and dance in a series of fantastic performances throughout the festive season.

The Cinderella pantomime is set to take over Contact Theatre with Manchester drag sensations Lady Bushra and Misty Chance, who will take centre stage in this enchanting production from eight-freestyle this December. 

And our followers can bag themselves half price tickets to see it.

Theatre guests can expect a fresh twist on the traditional storyline as Cinderella fights for her freedom from her cruel Stepsisters and their questionable fashion choices.

Marvel at the inventions of Lord Stoneybroke, share laughs with Buttons, and help the Prince find true love – all set to an upbeat modern soundtrack of ballroom bangers mixed by DJ Dandini. 

The show stars eight-freestyle’s regular cast of all-singing, all-dancing performers, making it a treat for children of all ages – even the grown-up ones!

This year’s Cinderella pantomime not only features an exceptional LGBTQ+ cast but also emphasises sustainability through recycled costumes and a collaboration with Hart-Work.

Hart-Work is a reworked clothing brand founded by Kimberly Hart-Simpson with the aim of promoting a positive buying experience and a goal to get people talking about clothing regardless of opinion.

The production team is committed to reducing its environmental impact, making this an eco-conscious and inclusive event for all. 

Sean Canning, Director of eight-freestyle, said: “Directing Cinderella with this fabulous team has been an absolute ball! With the unrivalled energy of our cast and the brilliant collaboration with Contact Young Company, we’re confident this will be eight-freestyle’s best panto yet.

Cinderella runs from Saturday December 9th until Sunday December 31st at Contact Theatre, Oxford Road, Manchester. Tickets range from £15 – £25.
