I need one of these…

Silentnight

One of the hardest parts about being in a couple is having to share a bed, with arguments about hogging the sheets and snoring commonplace.

But if your bed-sharing issue is about one of you being too hot while the other is too cold, then Silentnight has got just the thing.

Their new couple’s duvet comes with two different sides – one for those who like a thin cover, and one for those who crave the comfy warmth of a thick one.

Silentnight

The Yours and Mine cover comes with a heavy tog of 7.5 on one side – perfect if you feel the cold – and a lighter tog of 4.5 – ideal if you crave something a bit cooler at night.

Silentnight’s half and half cover also has an increase in channel stitching on its cooler side, allowing for more air circulation, and the warmer half has reduced stitching meaning it retains more heat.

Silentnight

Silentnight’s Brand Licensing Manager, Clare Rix said, “Having a great night’s sleep is essential in helping people to function throughout the day. Silentnight wanted to ensure that individuals ideal sleep environment was uncompromised by bedtime bickering.

“We created the Yours and Mine duvet to help prevent squabbles in the household and allow everyone to create their own sleep haven. To make this work, the duvet has a unique design of two togs in one, a higher tog is featured on one side to allow warmth and the other half is created with a lighter tog for a cooler night’s sleep.”

You can grab it in both double and kingsize, and the company says it’s ‘soft to the touch’.

They’re available from Argos and other online retailers – it’ll set you back £30 for a double at Argos, while Very also currently has them on offer for £30, and Amazon £32.99.

Iceland

Frozen food supermarket chain Iceland has launched an aisle dedicated to air fryer foods in a world first.

The move comes after more than 50% of Brits have reported they use the cooking appliance — reportedly cheaper to run during a cost of living crisis — several times a week.

The new dedicated aisle will include 287 items that can be cooked in the easy-to-use air fryer, such as Greggs sausage rolls, cod fillets, chicken fillets and Aunt Bessie’s Bacon Chicken Crown.

Iceland

According to the frozen goods giant, the new aisle will be piloted running from June 19th – June 25th at London’s Charlton outlet.

Latest research conducted by Utilita Energy revealed that households who mainly over cook can make the switch to more energy efficient appliances and make a whopping £202 saving.

Meanwhile, switching from oven cooking to an air fryer could see an annual saving of £80.50. In a poll, the energy firm also found that 72% of Brits would like to see air fryer cooking instructions included on food packaging.

Iceland has started adding cooking instructions for air fryer usage on its packaging following its pledge to update cooking methods along with energy saving instructions.

Richard Walker, Executive Chairman of Iceland Foods, said: “We pride ourselves on knowing exactly what our customers coming through our store doors are looking for, matching their changing shopping trends with fresh ideas.

“Introducing the world’s first air fryer aisle at our Food Warehouse is another exciting example. As the popularity of air fryer cooking grows, this aisle will give customers easy access to products that work perfectly in this time and energy saving cooking appliance.”

McDonald's & Albert Bridge / Geograph

McDonald’s has revealed it is bringing a new fan favourite McFlurry to its menu from next week.

Maccie’s fans can celebrate as their dreams are about to come true from June 21st when a highly anticipated new addition will make its debut.

Fans have been banging on about this one and the good people at Maccy D’s have indeed listened.

As the sun is scorching the nation and this heatwave seems to be continuing on good and strong, a new McFlurry to enjoy with its iced creamy goodness melting in your mouth is just what we’ve all been craving.

McDonald’s

McDonald’s have confirmed they will be bringing the new Lotus Biscoff flavour to its stores from next Wednesday (June 21st).

Customers will be able to grab the delicious iced treat across the UK and Ireland for around six weeks, or as long as stocks last for this limited edition ice cream.

Although Maccies’ lovers are able to treat themselves to this popular dessert in other countries, this is the first time it will be on offer in the UK and Ireland — I know, mad!

Fast food fans will be able to enjoy it in two sizes — regular for £1.99, and mini for £1.49.

McDonald’s

Thomas O’Neill, head of marketing, food and beverages at McDonald’s, said: “We’re so pleased to be launching the Lotus Biscoff McFlurry in the UK and Ireland.

“It’s been a long-time hope to some of our McDonald’s patrons and we’re glad we can make this into a reality.”

The new flavour has been called for by fans for quite some time now with many taking to social media in hope of bringing it into fruition — good job!

One customer said: “Biscoff McFlurry, pls bring them to UK McDonalds.”

A second fan said: “Lotus Biscoff McFlurry needs to make an appearance in the UK.”

And a third added: “A Lotus Biscoff McFlurry in the Zagreb McDonald’s last night… pleaseeeeeeee add this to the menu in the UK.”

You can currently get the Maltesers, Smarties, and Oreo McFlurry mini-size flavours for £1.49 — the same as the Biscoff mini-size. However, the regular sizes for the Maltesers, Smarties and Oreo flavours are £1.79, which is 20p cheaper than the regular Biscoff size.

Meanwhile, the Wispa and Wispa Gold mini-size flavours come in at £1.79 while the regular sizes both cost £2.29 — so the Biscoff is cheaper than these two options on both sizes.
