Manchester restaurant installs decontamination booth that disinfects you as you enter

Is this the new normal?!

Alex Watson

Zouk Tea Bar & Grill

Zouk, one of Manchester’s most popular Indian restaurants, has started prepping for reopening, putting in place a disinfecting booth in the entrance.

Diners will be expected to walk through the booth which will disinfect viruses, bacteria and other pathogens that can be carried on a person’s skin or clothing.

The dry mist will be sprayed in the booth and will encapsulate the body, disinfecting your skin and clothing, leaving no area untouched.

The Zouk team are working hard to prep for reopening. We want to ensure that when the time comes, we can welcome back…

The solution is non-toxic and perfectly safe to breathe in according to the Facebook post from Zouk Tea Bar & Grill.

The chemical found in the mist is already found within our bodies as our immune system generates the chemical to fight off pathogens.

The process has been put in place by the restaurant to protect the welfare of its staff and customers.

The Facebook post reads in full: “The Zouk team are working hard to prep for reopening. We want to ensure that when the time comes, we can welcome back our guests in the safest possible way.

“We’ve now installed a decontamination booth that uses ultrasonic technology to generate a dry mist of disinfectant which encapsulates the body, disinfecting your skin and clothing leaving no area untouched.

“The booth uses a non-toxic disinfectant that kills Viruses, Bacteria and other Pathogens that might be carried on a person’s skin or clothing. The solution is non-toxic and perfectly safe to breathe in. The chemical used actually already exists within us, our immune system generates it to fight off pathogens.

“This process is a great measure to protect the welfare of our staff and customers. The dry fogging technology used is perfect as it doesn’t wet users, ruin makeup or even mist up glasses!”

All the latest supermarket rules for families and couples shopping together

Everything you need to know…

Alex Watson

Supermarkets have released the latest updates on how couples and families should safely shop together.

Many shoppers have been left confused and overwhelmed following a flood of new lockdown restriction rules throughout the easing.

Throughout the lockdown supermarkets have limited the number of shoppers within the store which has often meant couples from the same household and families have been split up with crowds of people waiting outside.

The installation of Perspex screens began in our stores yesterday. All checkouts and kiosks will have these over the coming days to help protect both you and our colleagues.

Asda is continuing to limit the number of customers inside stores to help everyone abide by social distancing rules.

However, Asda has created a ‘one adult per trolley rule’. This rule doesn’t apply to children or anyone shopping with carers.

At present, Tesco’s rule remain the same, which advise people to do their shopping alone where possible.

While Aldi encourages customers to reduce the number of shoppers inside the store from each family, there aren’t any rules in place.

A spokesperson said: “In order to help with social distancing, we are encouraging all customers to try and reduce the number of family members they bring with them into our stores. Of course, we ask that all store staff use their discretion with children and parents.”

Sainsbury’s is also reducing the number of shoppers inside at any one time to help keep safe distancing and reduce queues, until the end of July.

Their official website explains: “Our store teams will be asking groups with more than one adult to choose one adult to shop and will ask other adults to wait. Children are welcome if they are not able to stay at home.”

Like most, Lidl also has a crowd control system in place, however there is no official rule regarding banning shopping with a partner.

The official Lidl website states: “This includes positioning security guards or designated team members at our store entrances during busy times of the day, to keep track of how many customers enter our stores at one time.”
