An annual food fair dedicated entirely to the humble burger is happening in Manchester next weekend.
Now, burgers have been a solid fan favourite among the masses for decades – it all started when, once upon a time in 1900, an insightful cook decided to sandwich a ground meat patty in between a barm, throwing in some sauce and lettuce for good measure.
Thus, the hamburger was born and today, over 100 years on, its popularity remains unwavering – if everything in the restaurant looks unappealing, you just know the burger option will sort you out.
Burgers come in all sorts of wonderful shapes and sizes these days – you can get chicken burgers, fish burgers, vegetable burgers – heck, you can even get Sunday roast burgers (it sounds strange but, trust me, it works).

And now, there is a food fair that will provide all of these wonderful concoctions all in one place.
Introducing: GRUB’s Burger Food Fair.
The event, which will be taking place next weekend from July 2nd – July 4th, will be playing home to some of the city’s best burger vendors.
Guests will be spoiled for choice with the burgers on offer – there will be classic American creations dripping with cheese, unique Indian twists, Japanese versions of burgers and even desserts inspired by, you guessed it, burgers.

Some of the names you can expect to see at the event are Bake O Rama, Osaka Local, What the Cluck, Tikka Chance on Me and What’s Your Beef.
And vegans and veggies need not to worry – GRUB will be continuing their Plant Powered Sundays, so there’ll be an option for everyone, regardless of their dietary requirements.
The event will be taking place at GRUB’s usual spot, The Red Bank Project, is completely free to attend and will run from 12pm-10pm on the Friday and Saturday, and 12pm-6pm on the Sunday.
