The free family friendly event, held at the huge UK wildlife conservation zoo, will take place from September 16th-17th from 11.30am – 4.30pm.

At the six-hectare nature reserve, one of the UK’s best known children’s presenters Naomi Wilkinson will headline the event.
Conservations hope to raise awareness around the issue of species in decline including hedgehogs, butterflies, and wildflowers, as festival-goers enjoy a whole weekend connecting to nature and learning about the UK’s precious wildlife.
Promised to be a highlight of the festival is Naomi Wilkinson’s interactive stage show, which has been created especially for the festival and will focus on how everyone can do their bit to help our wildlife ‘survive and thrive’.

Fans will also get the chance to meet and greet Naomi on both days.
The festival is free to attend all weekend and there is no pre-booking required, with guests able to get up close and personal with the wildlife as well as get involved in a variety of interactive activities, such as bug hunting, bird spotting and workshops.
There will also be some great entertainment lined up including live music and a parade.

Ahead of the upcoming event, Chester Zoo’s Community Engagement Officer, Hannah Brooks, said: “Our fabulous Wildlife Connections Festival will be bigger and better than ever before this year.
“We’re over the moon to have one of the UK’s best known children’s TV presenters, Naomi Wilkinson, headlining across both days, as she very much shares our passion for protecting all of the wonderful species found right here in the UK.
“It promises to be a fun-filled weekend, packed with a whole host of activities.”
Chester Zoo
About the reason behind the festival and its importance for the Zoo and British wildlife, she added: “We’re in the midst of a global biodiversity crisis with species everywhere becoming ever more at risk of extinction, including here on our doorstep – but it’s not too late though to do something about it.
“There’s still hope and we can all make a difference, and we’ll therefore be giving our festival-goers lots of ideas and inspiration on what they can do to help turn things around for nature.
“We can’t wait to welcome everyone to what’s sure to be a fantastic, wildlife-inspired weekend.”

Chester Zoo has announced it is launching a new ‘mystical’ Halloween trail which features an ‘enchanted river boat ride’, just in time for October half term.
Luna’s Legendary Creature Halloween Trail will run throughout the whole of October, including half term and Halloween.
Event organisers say the ‘spellbinding route will see visitors encounter five magical species’ such as the majestic crowned pigeon, the super agile Sulawesi macaque and the strong Sunda gharial crocodile.
Chester Zoo
The ‘spooktastic’ journey will highlight deforestation and the importance of protecting the rainforest.
Visitors to the trail will go on a quest to collect key words about the unique qualities of each animal before helping Luna the witch discover a legendary creature living deep inside the charity zoo’s Monsoon Forest habitat – the UK’s biggest indoor zoological building.
Guests who unlock the secrets of the rainforest will receive a spooky Halloween treat – no tricks!
Chester Zoo
Newly added to the trail this year, will see guests able to hop onto Halloween-themed boats and take a ride on the Lazy River Boats where they can see hanging bats, skeletons and pumpkins along the way.
Ellie Trigg, Chester Zoo’s customer development manager, said: “There’s a special mystical quest across South East Asia to discover at the zoo this October. We need visitors to help us find ‘Luna’s Legendary Creature’ which holds the secret to protecting the rainforest.
“This new trail will take guests through our huge Monsoon Forest habitat, where visitors will be challenged with collecting a number of key words from five locations to complete their log book and help us discover Luna’s Legendary Creature.”
Chester Zoo
She added: “Halloween provides us with a great opportunity to highlight some of the world’s rarest animals, especially those that can sometimes be a little misunderstood or which often fly under the radar.
“This new trail will also show visitors how small actions, such as swapping a few items in their weekly shop to sustainable alternatives, can help the species found on the trail to thrive in the wild.”
The trail is free to all zoo visitors who purchase normal zoo tickets and no time slot booking needed. Visitors of the zoo can go on the trail at any time throughout the day – which takes around 90 minutes to complete.
To book tickets, costing from £22.72 for children and from £29.99 for adults, visit the website by clicking HERE. Children aged two and under go free.
