Manchester band Blossoms have announced they will headline a huge concert held at Wythenshawe Park in 2024.

The indie-rockers from Stockport will be performing live on August bank holiday weekend 2024 for the biggest headline show of their career.

The all-day outdoor event is a fantastic follow up to the successful debut event headlined by Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, held at the park earlier this year.

The huge concert in the park will feature a great support bill including legendary band Shed Seven – celebrating the 30th anniversary of their incredible back catalogue – as well as the Dublin quartet Inhaler, The K’s, Seb Lowe and TTRRUUCES.

The announcement follows the incredibly well received release of Blossoms’ brand-new single, ‘To Do List (After The Breakup)’, inspired and named after the viral poetry book ‘Milk And Honey’ by Rupi Kaur.

Mates since school, the Blossoms band members; Tom Ogden, Joe Donovan, Charlie Salt, Joshua Dewhurst and Myles Kellock, have enjoyed widespread success and acclaim throughout their career.

Summer 2023 saw Blossoms performing shows and festivals across the country, including a surprise epic set at Glastonbury where they were joined by the legendary Rick Astley to perform a set full of their favourite Smiths songs.

Tom Ogden, lead vocalist of Blossoms, said: “Headlining our biggest show yet at Wythenshawe Park is going to be THE moment of our career so far for us.

“It makes me think of me and Joe going to watch Oasis and The Stone Roses at Heaton Park back when we were teenagers, and how important these big summer Manchester shows are to people.

“It made us want to be in a band, affected what we wore and changed our lives forever. To misquote Dorothy, ‘Lads, I’ve a feeling we’re not on Oldham Street anymore!”

Fans can pre-order Blossoms’ forthcoming album to gain access to presale tickets, which will be available from 10am on Thursday, November 9th, HERE. General sale tickets go on sale on Friday, November 10th at 10am, HERE.

Avril Lavigne is coming to Manchester to perform a huge outdoor gig at Castlefield Bowl next summer.

The Canadian singer-songwriter has announced two outdoor shows in the UK in 2024.

She will be performing at Cardiff Castle on July 2nd before heading to Manchester to play at Castlefield Bowl on July 3rd, as part of the Sounds Of The City series.

The star will be supported by Canadian rock band Simple Plan, best known for their song ‘I’m Just a Kid’.

Lavigne enjoyed success with her pop-punk songs in the noughties, including the hits ‘Sk8er Boi’, ‘Complicated’ and ‘Girlfriend’.

She is best known for her monochrome punk-style, smokey eyes and long blonde hair – something every skater girl wannabe copied.

The punk-pop star shared her latest studio album back in February 2022 under the title ‘Love Sux’. She later released an expanded deluxe version of the LP in November of that year.

She has received eight Grammy Awards nominations, including Best New Artist.

The UK tour will be a celebration of her Love Sux album and will be part of wider touring throughout Europe in 2024, taking place at festivals including I Days in Milan on July 9th, Festival de Nîmes in Nîmes on July 10th, and Festival Cruïlla in Barcelona on July 12th.

The singer is yet to announce any more UK dates as of yet, but the upcoming dates in Manchester and Cardiff won’t be her only shows lined up for next summer.

Tickets to see Avril Lavigne perform next year will go on sale this Friday, December 1st, at 10am and will be available to buy HERE.
