It’s the thing you didn’t know you needed – for one night only, you can immerse yourself in the wonderful world of Mamma Mia!
Because the possibility of a summer holiday is looking unlikely for most of us this year, we’re having to get creative and simply bring the sunshine to Manchester – no easy task, I know.
But while we can’t promise any Greek weather, we can certainly deliver for the Greek holiday vibes – plenty of eating, drinking and an ABBA soundtrack.
And what better way to do it than to attend a sing-along Mamma Mia! night?
Coming to Manchester on July 3rd at a ‘secret venue,’ Mamma Mia! fans will have the opportunity to live out their very own Greek getaway dream.
The event’s description encourages guests to dress up in their best ABBA attire before preparing them to ‘belt out those plate-smashing pop classics’, alongside the singing waiters and cast.
The description reads: “We encourage you to dress up and sing along as we transform our secret location into a quaint Greek taverna!
“So grab those floaty dresses and polish off those boat shoes or go full Dancing Queen and come as Disco Dudes and Divas. Either way, be prepared to belt out those plate-smashing pop classics.”
Each booking is ninety minutes long and includes a two course meal – vegetarian and gluten-free options included – and a unique pop up experience.

There will be 42 beers from 14 of Manchester’s finest breweries on offer across the weekend
Love a good pint?
Whether you’re partial to a sour beer, if IPA is your go-to tipple or you prefer to keep it simple with a nice cold pint of lager, The Big Pour MCR is here to celebrate beer in all of its glory with the help of Manchester’s best breweries.
Coming to Ancoats’ The Crown & Kettle this weekend for four days, the festival is completely free to attend and will be hosting some fourteen of the finest breweries our city has to offer.
Familiar favourites such as Seven Brothers, the Alphabet Brewing Company, Manchester Union Brewery, and ShinDigger will all be making an appearance across the long weekend, as will other local gems such as Squawk Brewing Company, Track Brewery and Wander Beyond Brewing.
Now, I know what you’re thinking – some seriously decent scran will be needed to soak up all of this beer, won’t it?
Well, Mira will be in attendance throughout the four-day long event and will be dishing up classic Napoli inspired dishes such as cuzzetiello sandwiches, pizza bites and fries – the perfect food to be washed down with a cold pint.
There will also be a good old fashioned game of bingo (beer themed, of course) courtesy of the Instagram sensation, Pints of Manchester.
The Big Pour Mcr will be taking place at The Crown & Kettle from Thursday September 30th to Sunday October 3rd and is completely FREE to attend. So just turn up and have a lovely time, alright?
