A comedy musical inspired by the hit sitcom Friends is coming to Salford’s Lowry Theatre at the end of the month.

Friendsical’ is billed as an ‘original and unique’ new parody musical inspired by the gang in Friends, which ran for ten seasons between 1994 and 2004.

The touring show promises to pay tribute to all the best bits from the series’ 236 episodes into ‘over two hours of nostalgic fun’ with an abundance of inside jokes and unforgettable scenes and storylines.

The show’s synopsis reads: “When Ross’s wife leaves him for another woman, he fears he will never find love again. But then Rachel runs back into his life… will he end up with his one true love?

“With original new songs such as (He’s her) Lobster!, Richard’s Moustache and You’re Over Me, When Were You Under Me?, the gang take on naked Thursdays, a power cut, and a dinosaur convention! What could possibly go wrong?”

Playing everyone’s favourite friends are Sario Solomon as Joey, Sarah Michelle-Kelly as Monica, Nelson Bettencourt as Ross, Tim Edwards as Chandler, Ally Retberg as Phoebe, Amelia Kinu Muus as Rachel, Olivia Williamson as Hot Girl/Ensemble and Tanveer Singh Devgun as Gunther/Male Ensemble.

The show will also feature a number of celebrity guest appearances during its residency at The Lowry, with pop star Louise Redknapp and RuPaul’s Drag Race UK star Ella Vaday both confirmed to be taking on the guest slots.

Ella will perform from Monday to Wednesday evenings and the Friday and Saturday matinee, while Louise will be on stage from Thursday to Saturday evenings.

Miranda Larson, the writer and director of Friendsical, added: “From day one of airing, I have been a huge fan of the TV Show, and it has been a dream to stage and celebrate this iconic series.

“There is something for everyone in Friendsical, from the well-known references to ones that only mega fans (like me) will get. Oh and if you are new to ‘Friends’, then it’s a fun musical love story that can be easily followed.”

Louise said on her role in the show: “I’m thrilled to announce that I’ll be a special guest for Friendsical… I’ve always been such a huge Friends fan as you may know and now finally get a chance to be part of the show (sort of!), I’ve watched the show for many years so this is super exciting for me.”

Friendsical will be at The Lowry Theatre in Salford from Monday October 31st to Saturday November 5th.

Urban Playground has taken things to the next level, revealing three brand new games for thrill-seekers to sink their teeth into.

The Manchester Arndale entertainment venue, which is already home to an impressive array of games, has added even more fun to the line up.

From mini golf to arcade games and loads of food and drink, Urban Playground has everything you need for an incredible day out.

They’ve now added three new games to The Cube Live experience, ahead of the upcoming Christmas party season.

‘Pass’, ‘Exit’ and ‘Locate’ are the three new nail-bitingly tense games, and you’ll recognise them all from TV.

In Pass, two players rapidly weave a foam brick back and forth between free-standing poles, avoiding knocking the poles over as they go – requiring agility and great communication.

Exit sees two players work together manoeuvring a ball out of a maze testing their patience to the max.

Lastly, Locate is a single player game where players must memorise an illuminated white square’s location, before placing a block on it while blindfolded.

They’re all deceptively straightforward, while also fiendishly addictive, and perfect for a team day out.

Get booked in HERE to try the new games for yourself.
