Married at First Sight is looking for Mancunians to take part in the TV show and hopefully find their Mr or Mrs Right.

The reality TV programme is the Cilla Black of this decade, pairing people together in what they describe as a ‘ground-breaking experiment’.

The Channel 4 show is looking for Series Six cast members, and in particular, single men.

The official advert reads: “We have a team of world-class experts ready to find your perfect match for a dream wedding with a luxury honeymoon!”

You’ll meet your future spouse actually at your wedding. The programme will follow you both as you go through the usual – meet the in-laws, set up a home and celebrate your matrimony at your honeymoon.

You might want to take the idea with a pinch of salt though. The UK version paired up 14 couples so far and only one marriage has survived off the screen.

Still – it might be better odds than Tinder.

If you fancy your chances you can click here to apply.

They’ll require some details plus a short audition video which might appear in the programme, so make sure you’re looking your best.

Good luck!

“Support local businesses!”

Yesterday it was confirmed which regions in England would be going into which tier when lockdown ends next week, with Greater Manchester facing the strictest restrictions, Tier 3.

The confirmation brought bad news for most of the North West, as well as large parts of Northern England, as they were also plunged into the tightest restrictions come December 2nd.

Phillip Schofield pleaded with This Morning viewers to support local businesses as large parts of the country are put into Tier 3.

Making a passionate plea on the morning show, Phil hit out at the health secretary Matt Hancock after delaying his announcement.

Phillip and co-host Holly Willoughby, as well as guests Vanessa Feltz and Nick Ferrari, reacted to the news on the show.

Nick said: “People who own pubs in the likes of Redcar, Hartlepool. my heart goes out to them.

“I hope they’re there come 2021.”

Adding to Nick’s concerns, Phillip said while looking directly down the lens: “If you have a pub or restaurant that you know is down the road and they’re doing takeouts in Tier 3, make sure, that if you want them at the end of the road by the end of all this, that it’s them that you’re going to for takeouts if they’ve set it up, rather than the big usual ones you might get your Saturday night takeaway from.

The Lowry has announced their plans to live-stream a performance of the hit show The Gruffalo into every primary school in Salford.

The performance will take place on Friday, December 11th at 1:30pm and will be available to each of the 99 primary schools in Salford for free.

The first 50 schools to register will also receive £50 of art supplies as a gift from Alison & Noel Copley, patrons of the art centre’s Copley Prize for children.

Julia Fawcett OBE, chief executive of The Lowry, said: “COVID-19 has caused untold disruption to the academic year and the wellbeing of millions of children– not least of all the opportunity for children to come together to experience live theatre.

“Had it not been for the pandemic, we would have expected to welcome some 15,000 children to our building this year – visiting one of our theatres, galleries or taking part in our Learning programme.

“By live-streaming this performance exclusively to Salford primary schools, free of charge, we hope to bring a bit of Christmas cheer to more than 10,000 children across Salford.”

Any schools wishing to get involved can email here

Currently, The Lowry is closed as per the national lockdown, but live performances are set to resume on Friday December 4th with galleries open on weekends only from Saturday December 5th.

There’s a brand new Chaser in town named ‘The Menace’ ready to battle with contestants.

Irish genius, Darragh Ennis is a neuroscientist who first appeared on the show in 2017 where he played against Paul and performed incredibly.

He won a whopping amount of money that was dramatically decreased by the other contestants on the episode.

The brainbox will be joining Jenny ‘The Vixen’ Ryan, Shaun ‘The Dark Destroyer’ Wallace, Mark ‘The Beast’ Labbett, Anne ‘The Governess’ Hegerty and Paul ‘The Sinnerman’ Sinha and will be called ‘The Menace’

Darragh said: “I’m so pleased to be the sixth Chaser. It’s brilliant to be on such an amazing quiz team, and so much fun working with Bradley Walsh.

“It’s such an exciting opportunity and I can’t wait to take on more contestants!”

Host Bradley Walsh joked: “Another Chaser? ANOTHER CHASER? That’s another person cleverer than me on The Chase. I must have words with the producers.

“But I can’t wait to educate Darragh on the important things in life; custard creams, cowboy films and real ale.”

Fans are delighted Darragh will become the sixth Chaser and that no one is  leaving.

One wrote: “Exciting but reallyyyy strange seeing a new Chaser in the chair!”

While another added: “I know! I know I’m late and feck me, it’s the newbie!!! About time!! #TheChase “

He’s already had his first stab of the show but it didn’t go too well as the first player beat him.

What do you make of the newbie?
