A grandad and granddaughter duo captured the hearts of the region last weekend with their emotional win on ITV gameshow, The Cube.
Huge fans of the game, Rob and Chloe Wilson from Eccles, Salford, put their skills to the test on Saturday evening, where they arrived already prepared with a plan on how to win each round.
The pair sailed through the first few rounds thanks to their love of the show and practice at home but they were soon hit with a twist – in a brand-new segment, Rob and Chloe needed to hold up two poles and drop a ball in the middle of a container – a difficult challenge for even the most seasoned of Cubers.

After one failed attempt, the pair decided to make it a little bit easier and simplified the round, making the container to catch the ball in that little bit bigger. And, miraculously, it wasn’t the final game they had, with Rob and Chloe heading through to game six and managing to land the massive £100,000 prize.
They were given the opportunity to continue playing for an even larger sum of money but, very sensibly, the pair decided it wasn’t worth the risk and bowed out with the £100K.
Visibly emotional, Chloe told her grandad: “I am so thrilled with what we’ve done,” before thanking host Phillip Schofield and accepting the money.
And as for their first winnings spend? Well, it seems that Rob and Chloe used some of the money to buy matching The Cube tattoos.
Phillip Schofield shared a picture of the pair showing off their new ink on Twitter, writing: “I love this wonderful grandad and granddaughter combo, so adorable and such fans of #thecube after they left us Chloe & Rob got matching tats!”
Following their viral fame, Chloe herself took to Twitter to share her gratitude for her and her grandad’s new fans, writing: “Me and my grandad Rob are BLOWN AWAY by the amazing responses to our show. So many lovely comments thank you to you all! I think the nation cried with us @Schofe! @THECUBETV thank you for the most incredible memories! @ITV @ObjectiveMediaG you made our dreams come true.”
