Woman says husband takes regular secret trips to Thailand and sends money there

A woman has spoken of her marital issues during a TV phone-in, revealing that her husband takes secret trips to Thailand and sends hundreds of pounds out there.

The woman, who said her name was Julie, called up ITV’s This Morning to ask for guidance during the agony aunt Dear Deidre section of the show. She said her husband, of almost 50 years, makes regular trips to Thailand without telling her and is even sending money over to the country.

Julie admitted to Deidre Sanders, as well as hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, that she is at her wit’s end and doesn’t know what to do about it, saying: “It’s normally on a Wednesday night he goes. I just come home, there’s no note, nothing, passport, gone, clothes gone.

“I’m 70 now and I just don’t know what to do.”

Julie also revealed that hundreds of pounds have been sent to a mysterious person in Thailand, and whenever she tries to bring it up with her partner, he just tells her it’s none of her business.

To which Deidre said: “Of course what your husband is doing is your concern and funnelling out hundreds of pounds of family income – that is terrible.”

Holly agreed it was ‘definitely not okay’ while Phil suggested that her husband could possibly be cheating with another ‘man or a woman’. Though Julie clarified that the money being sent was not from their joint bank account.

Viewers went mad, taking to social media to give their views on the story – with many advising Julie to leave her partner. One person wrote: “Julie, he’d be bloody gone if he was married to me. He can’t be going off to Thailand every five minutes then come back to you when he feels like it.”

Another put: “I think we know why he’s going to Thailand Julie.” A third added: “Julie, just change the locks next time. Or move.” While someone else commented: “It might be difficult at 70 but my God Julie. Locks changed next time he’s away. He’s an absolute d**k.”

Hopefully Julie will work out what she thinks is the best thing to do, but we’ll have to wait to see if she gives any update on her situation.
