Gogglebox’s Malone family endured a meal out at the ‘rudest restaurant in Manchester’ this week and, much to the delight of their fans, they documented the full and sweary experience.

While the Mancunian family are firm favourites on the Channel 4 reality show, they didn’t get any special treatment over at Karen’s Diner, whose staff pride themselves on being as rude as possible to those who dare dine in.

The restaurant, which opened in Prestwich last month, ensures each and every guest gets the ‘full Karen treatment’, celebrities and TV stars included.

So when the Malone family arrived for dinner yesterday, staff went above and beyond to make sure they were treated no differently to the other unfortunate guests.

In a video posted onto the official Malone family Instagram page, Tom Sr, Julie and their son Tom Jr could be seen being sat down by a waitress who reassured them they wouldn’t be getting any special treatment.

She was heard informing them: “Alright the Malone family. I know you’re on telly and everything, yeah, but I’m not treating you any different, you’re all s***s”.

Tom Sr seemed amused by the casual insult and, chuckling, responded: “Thank you very much… best compliment I’ve had all day.”

Later in the video, waiting staff sang an x-rated version of ‘Happy Birthday’ to Julie, who had been forced to wear a paper hat emblazoned with the unsavoury title ‘Cheapest p***** on the council estate’.

Tom Sr and Tom Jr were also made to done the crude paper hats, one with the unfortunate title ‘TV w****r’ and the other with “Gaping a******e”.

Later in the video, Julie was seen being encouraged to down one of Karen’s Diner’s infamous shots, served in a miniature toilet cup, by a number of waiting staff and fellow diners, all of whom seemed delighted to have the Channel 4 stars in their company.

The video has gone down a treat with fans of the family and, rather than be put off visiting, many seem keen to pay the explosive diner a visit themselves.

One person tagged their friend and asked: “Can we go just for the laughs?” while another commented: “We need to go to Karen’s!!!!”.

And much to the delight of Gogglebox fans, the offical Karen’s Diner Instagram account later commented on the video: “Don’t come back unless you’re bringing Dave with you”.

A professional golfer has been praised for her response to a man who’s ‘played for 20 years’ advising her on how to swing a club.

Georgia Ball is a golf pro with the Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA). She coaches golf and regularly creates videos for TikTok to share her top tips with her followers.

In one recent clip where Georgia was practising a new style of swing, a random man interrupts her to tell her not to swing the way that she is, advising her on how she should be swinging instead.

The stranger, who can not be seen in the shot, says: “Excuse me, what you are doing there, you should not being doing that.

“You should be right through your swing and follow through. You are too slow on the way up and then back.”

Georgia politely tries to explain why she is doing what she is doing as the man appears not to pay attention to what she is saying, and goes on to interrupt her again to tell her he has ‘been playing golf for 20 years’.

Georgia smiles at the man and gives the camera a look of disbelief before she lines up the golf ball and takes another shot, sending the ball sailing through the air and right down the centre of the driving range.

The guy then tells her: “See how much better that was?” Georgia laughs it off and tells him that she had been deliberately slowing down her swing to try out a new style, as professional golfers do.

To which, the man replies: “Keep doing that anyway, OK?”

Georgia posted the clip – which has since gone viral raking in 11.7 million views – to her TikTok page @georgiagolfcoach along with the caption: “Can you believe he said this?”

The video caption then says: “Wait for it…” before we watch the cringeworthy moment unravel.

Commenting on the clip, one person said: “I’ve been driving for 25 years but I’m not about to give Lewis Hamilton some pointers.”

Another put: “The way you had to repeat yourself 3 times and he cut you off every time.” Georgia then commented on the post herself saying: “That was a bit awkward, not going to lie.”

Someone else chimed in: “*implements nothing he says* ‘See how much better that was’ HAHAHHAHA.” And Georgia replied: “This is why I couldn’t help but laugh. I was lost for words!”

And another person added: “My hope is that he comes across this video and it keeps him up at night.”

Many people have praised Georgia for managing to remain polite and showing ‘remarkable levels of class and restraint’.

One follower typed: “You were much more gracious than I would have been.” And another said: “The way you reacted so calm and polite! I’d be fuming!”

TV presenter Dan Walker also praised Georgia, as he commented: “Georgia showed remarkable levels of class and restraint here. I hope the fella involved gives a full apology and goes to her for a lesson.”

Jelly Babies have been crowned the nation’s favourite sweet, according to a new survey.

The cute little retro tots beat the likes of Wine Gums, Drumstick lollies, Love Hearts and Cola Bottles to the top spot.

The survey, conducted by research agency, Perspectus Global found that the sugary delights, made with a firm shell and soft centre and invented 160 years ago, still proved they were going strong even against new competition.

Firm favourites in the hearts of the nation, Jelly Babies were closely followed by Fruit Pastilles in second place with 62% of the vote, and Wine Gums in third with 60%.

Jelly Babies were first manufactured in Lancashire in the nineteenth century. But their popularity began to wane before being revived by Bassett’s, in Yorkshire.

Bassett’s began mass-producing the sweets as ‘Peace Babies’ in 1918 but then later reverted back to calling them Jelly Babies, as we all know and love them today.

Other popular choices included Cola Bottles, creamy Werther’s Originals, rainbow coloured Skittles and mouthwateringly fruity Starburst.

But surprisingly, oldies but goldies including Black Jacks, Drumstick Lollies as well as its modern-day partner the Drumstick Squashie, didn’t perform quite as well as some might expect.

The tongue colour-changing Black Jacks came in at 21 with 52%, and Drumstick Lollies and Squashies got 51% of the vote.

And the inter-galactic retro Flying Saucers, crash landed at 29 on the list with 49% of the vote.

But the survey also revealed that not only do Brits love a sugary, fruity and tangy sweet, they also love a minty one too as Polos, Tic Tacs and Mentos all made it on the list as fan favourites.

Of the 2,000 polled, 78% said there was something magical about enjoying your favourite childhood sweets, 77% admitted they would rather have sweets for dessert than a pudding and 70% prefer sweets over chocolate.

On average, Brits chomp through around 19 sweets a week – which is not great news for our teeth.

Woman finds Easter eggs for just 75p in Morrisons and does trolley dash

Bargain!

A woman took to social media to show off her Easter egg shop after hearing Morrisons had slashed them down to 75p.

If you need to stock up on Easter eggs for the upcoming holiday, or you’ve just got a sweet tooth and love a good bargain, you’ll be pleased to hear Morrisons are selling some of the chocolate goodies for a reduced price of 75p.

One woman heard the news and had to go and check it out for herself, sharing her chocolate egg haul in a video clip on TikTok.

@tammyadnitt / TikTok

Savvy shopper and chocolate lover Tammy made sure to fill her trolley with a selection of the Cadbury and Nestle eggs currently on offer at Morrisons.

The retail giant has slashed its 96g – 126g Easter eggs down by half price from £1.50 to 75p.

However, there’s just one catch: to get this price, customers will need to scan their Morrisons More Card. Customers without a More Card will still have to pay the full price of £1.50.

However, shoppers will have to act quick to bag this bargain as these deals usually only last a week.

Tammy’s TikTok clip shows her POV as she pushes her shopping trolley filled with 20 of the Easter eggs costing her a total of £15 – not bad. At full price this shop would have cost her £30, saving her a cool £15.

With surely enough in her cart to sort the whole family and have a few left over to treat herself to while watching a Netflix series, it’s no wonder the TikToker was so pleased with herself as she typed in the caption: “When you hear these eggs are down to 75p.”

The clip, posted just days ago, has already gained almost 10,000 views and over 1,000 likes, though viewers have been left divided over the haul. Some have been tagging their friends and family to hurry and make the most of the deal while others have called it ‘selfish’ – but Tammy clapped back at the commenter, saying: “chill out”.

Meanwhile, someone else said: “Literally picked 2 of all flavours for my children.” And another asked: “Is there a limit? My daughter’s birthday party is the day before Easter so I was going to bulk buy them to give to all the kids.”

Responding, one shopper typed: “I wasn’t told there was a limit so it was worth a try. I just went to a self-checkout.”

While Tammy replied with: “Yes it says two of each only. I was over the ‘limit’ but no one questioned it.”
