Nowadays we’re used to things going viralvideos, songs, news stories – but back in the halcyon days of 2005 it was still a novelty.

One early viral sensation was the incredibly irritating Crazy Frog, the driving force behind a popular ringtone which turned into a global chart-topping single.

If you’re too young to remember him, Crazy Frog rode an imaginary motorbike while making engine sounds, all to a version of the Beverly Hills Cop theme song.

Well, we’ve got good/bad news depending on your memories of the insane amphibian, because Crazy Frog is making a BIG comeback next month.

He’ll be back on YouTube from December 10th, with a comeback track which promises to be a mash-up of classic hits inspired by various TikTok trends.

Wolfgang Boss is the president of A&R for Sony Music, the label which produced and owns Mr Crazy Frog’s back catalogue of music.

Boss says that during an age where the ‘ringtone is completely dead’, the new music and corresponding video could find a new generation of fans.

He told the BBC: “When we started Crazy Frog, there was no TikTok, it didn’t exist. But right now TikTok is super important. It’s basically the number one platform for people to share new music and funny things connected with music.”

The Crazy Frog Official Instagram account shared a picture of the iconic frog in front of a pan with a ladle in his mouth and a chef’s hat on his head, back in September.

The caption teased: “Something’s cooking… #soon #crazyfrog”.

Who’s excited for the return of the Crazy Frog, then?
