Now, it’s no secret that a ‘hot summer’s day’ has somewhat lost its novelty as of late – Greater Manchester has been in the grips of a sweltering heatwave this past week, and the temperatures aren’t looking to cool down any time soon.
But the sleep-deprived, overheated people of the region need not to fear, because Lidl has come to the rescue with the remedy none of us knew we needed.
As part of its ‘Iberia Week’, Lidl will be embracing the flavours and delights of Spain with a whole range of exciting new products, such as the Spanish style churros, a selection of Spanish cured meats and a delicious Spanish tapas selection, which will hit shelves from tomorrow, Thursday July 22nd.
But perhaps most tantalisingly, the budget supermarket is offering a range of Sol & Mar Spanish-Style Ice Lollies in multiple flavours, Blood Orange, Watermelon, and Sangria included.
Each packet contains six ice lollies and is priced at an outrageously reasonable price of just £1.49. You can’t argue with that, can you?
Other refreshing Sol & Mar products up for sale include the fresh clementine juice and a boozy Spanish moscatel.

Reese’s Peanut Butter cheesecakes are coming to Iceland

Public service announcement: Iceland will soon be selling Reese’s Peanut Butter cheesecakes in the not-so-distant future.
Don’t say we don’t treat you.
But now, we may potentially have the king of all cheesecakes on our hands in the form of Iceland’s soon-to-be Reese’s Peanut Butter Cheesecake.
An image of the sensational dessert was shared onto Instagram by John’s Snack Reviews, who wrote: “NEW Frozen Reese’s Peanut Butter Cheesecake! Coming soon to Iceland and Food Warehouse!”
Instagram page UK Snack Attack was the one to originally break the news of the cheesecake, explaining that it is a result of a new partnership between Iceland and manufacturer The Hershey Company Brand.
Sadly, the cheesecakes aren’t currently available to buy in Iceland or on its website, and we are yet to receive a release date – though they are expected to arrive in stores very soon.
In the meantime, B&M Lifestyle has offered a recipe for you to make your very own Reese’s cheesecake at home, and it’s surprisingly straight forward.
For the base, all you need to do is crush 200g of chocolate chip cookies and mix with melted butter before squashing into the base of a baking tin.
And then for the main body of the cheesecake, you’ll need to whisk together 450ml double cream and 100g caster sugar before adding cream cheese, condensed milk, and peanut butter.
Refrigerate overnight and add chopped Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups before drizzling with melted chocolate and peanut butter.
Manchester bar is selling a real life beer pong Christmas jumper so you can play it on the move

If you love a good game of beer pong, this could be the Christmas jumper for you.
To celebrate its first Christmas, Manchester’s newly-opened bowling, pool and karaoke bar Lane7 has launched a limited edition festive jumper complete with miniature red beer pong cups.
Unlike the original table version of the game, those who wear the jumper – which features a quirky ‘let’s get basted’ design – will be able to stand two metres apart and attempt to land the ball in their opponent’s cups, which are removable from the jumpers in the event of a landed ball.
However, the unique garment won’t be available in your typical run-of-the-mill shop; if die-hard fans wish to get their hands on the jumper, they must visit their local Lane7 venue tomorrow, December 10th, and ask staff to play ‘DecemBeer Pong’ in order to get their hands on one of their own.
Though you’ll need to be quick; jumpers are only being given out to the first five requests of the day. Early morning game of beer pong, anyone?
Jack Jolly, Head of Creative for Lane7, said on the inspiration behind the jumpers: “We know our guests love getting competitive, so we’ve added a new angle on the much-loved tradition of Christmas Jumpers.

Aldi is selling a footlong pigs in blankets butty as part of its Christmas range

As Christmas day looms and the majority of the nation frantically gets their turkeys ordered and Brussels sprouts prepped, Aldi has quietly released what could be the ruler of all Christmas dinners far and wide.
Introducing: The footlong pigs in blankets sandwich.
The mammoth butty comes as an addition to the budget supermarket’s already impressive selection of festive goodies – the new hot chocolate mug melts are a must-try, by the way.
But back to the butty; the festive treat is described as a ‘meaty, footlong British pig in blanket‘, and comes slathered in layers of fried onion mayonnaise and sweet cranberry chutney, all of which is sandwiched between a soft footlong brioche roll with a healthy portion of butter basted British turkey.
It doesn’t get much more Christmassy than that, does it?
Shoppers won’t have to wait too long to get their hands on this festive treat either, as it will be made available in all stores nationwide this Friday, December 10th, for just £3.49.
And this isn’t the only good news coming from Aldi this Christmas; the supermarket has teamed up with Man United star Marcus Rashford for its 2021 Christmas advert campaign as part of its pledge to donated 1.8 million meals to families over the festive period.
Rashford shared the new advert – wherein he appears as Marcus ‘Radishford’ onto Twitter, writing: “Well done @AldiUK. This is much bigger than a Christmas ad… Might not be Oscar-worthy but glad I could play my part.”
The footballer added in a statement: “As a family, we relied on the local food bank to get our Christmas dinner. To this day, I remember queuing outside that building with mum, mum feeling embarrassed that she might be recognised.
“It is with that in mind that I’m delighted to lend my support to the Aldi campaign.
“For many children in situations like mine growing up, there is very little expectation around this time of year; add the impact of the pandemic and the very least they deserve is a Christmas dinner.”
