Set to be the beating heart of the Ancoats neighbourhood, Edinburgh Castle is a pub that will serve food with a traditional angle from its ground floor but will have a 36-cover restaurant upstairs that will focus on British food with seasonality and provenance.
“A proper boozer with a proper pint.”
There will be a brunch menu on the weekends available 10am-3pm, and a Sunday Roast which promises to be on of the best in the city served each Sunday 12pm-8pm.
The man behind the drinks, Gethin Jones, promises that the pub focus will be on a good pint, Guinness on tap, a ‘solid’ Irish Coffee, and that guests can expect a strong whisky offering and a very considered gin list.
A new spot dedicated to pastel de nata has opened in Manchester Arndale
This looks so good!
If you love pastel de nata and are gutted that a trip to Portugal to sample them in their home country looks to be off the cards this year, then we’ve got some good news for you.
A new spot dedicated to the delicious little Portuguese treats has opened in the Arndale food market, and it looks so good.
Just Natas officially launched in the Arndale Market this week, joining established vendors like Viet Shack and Salt & Pepper.
Born out of a passion for the delicious, custard-filled snacks, Just Natas only serves up pastéis de nata and espresso – but what more could you want?
It’s open from 10am until 5pm – or until they sell-out, which has already happened this week – so you best be quick if you want to grab some.
It’s all baked fresh on-site daily, and you can even grab takeaway boxes stacked with as many natas as you like (all of them).
Just Natas is open every day from 10am at the Arndale Market, and you can follow them on Instagram here to stay up to date.
Harvey Nichols launches an orange and gingerbread light-up snow globe gin with gold flecks
This looks amazing!
What better way to get your house all festive than an actual snow globe full of gin that not only lights up but has shimmering flecks of REAL gold in?!
Coming in at £29, this Orange and Gingerbread Snow Globe Gin Liqueur from Harvey Nichols contains 23 karat gold leaf and a lamp on the base that lights up the bottle on your shelf.
It’s that pretty it will become a part of your Christmas decorations!
The gin contains zesty Seville orange with a warming gingerbread, notes of cinnamon and dried cloves to really give it that perfect Christmas flavour.
If the flavours didn’t get you in the Christmas spirit enough, give the bottle a gentle shake and switch on the light and you’ll have a twinkling gold leaf cascade in front of a snowy Christmas scene found inside the bottle.
That’s not the end of the boujee gold either – the box is a beautiful gold-foiled gift box making it the perfect present for all those gin lovers in your life.
The gin liqueur is paired perfectly with Prosecco for a bubbly cocktail at home. Or you can mix with tonic for a simpler and longer drink or just enjoy neat over ice!
The gin is served in 700ml bottles and comes in at 20%ABV. You can get it from Harvey Nichols stores from November.
