LadBaby are going all out in their race for the UK Christmas number one this year with the help from music icons Ed Sheeran and Elton John.
YouTube stars Mark and Roxanne Hoyle have achieved three consecutive Christmas number ones since 2018 with their fun sausage roll-themed songs, all of which raise money for the Trussell Trust food bank charity.
And this year, in an attempt to reach the world record of four consecutive Christmas number ones, the Nottinghamshire couple have recruited the help of music icons Ed Sheeran and Elton John.
The couple said in a statement: “Ed and Elton are pop royalty and they’ve both had huge success at Christmas, so we’re honoured and excited to be coming together to help families this Christmas… With the power of sausage rolls.”
Sheeran, who was the last artist before LadBaby to have a festive number one with his 2017 love song ‘Perfect’, said he is ‘proud’ to be supporting and featuring on LadBaby’s single this Christmas.
He said, as per the BBC: “All profits will be donated to The Trussell Trust, which is a very wonderful and important charity, so make sure you stream it, buy it and play it on repeat.”
Elton John said in the announcement: “We’re coming together to make a difference this Christmas and raise as much money as possible for people in the UK that need it the most.”
LadBaby are currently tied with the Spice Girls and The Beatles, who both hold the record with three consecutive Christmas No 1s apiece.
This year, however, they face competition from Adele, Abba and Gary Barlow, plus some more traditional favourites like Mariah Carey and Wham!.
The single, titled ‘Sausage Rolls for Everyone‘, is available to preorder on Amazon and iTunes. It will be available on full release on December 17th.
Aitch offers Liam Gallagher £7m to feature on new album
The collaboration of all collaborations…
Rapper Aitch has offered Liam Gallagher a handsome sum of money to feature on his upcoming new album.
Clearly not one to mess around when it comes to big career opportunities, local lad Aitch – from New Moston – took to Twitter yesterday to proposition the former Oasis frontman, tagging him and writing simply: “I will pay £7 Million for you to be on my album @liamgallagher.”
Gallagher is yet to respond to the tempting offer, though he is known for his Twitter antics so we shouldn’t be waiting too long for one of his famed snarky replies.
Yet regardless of Liam’s lack of response, fans have been loving the bizarre proposal, with one jokingly asking the rapper for ‘a tenner’ and another saying she’ll change her name and take up the offer herself.
And, when someone offered Aitch £6 to ‘quit music’, the good-humoured rapper replied with: “I’ll send you my bank details now.”
Aitch, real name Harrison Armstrong, is putting together a new record after his last album Polaris was released back in 2020.
He has previously collaborated with the likes of Bugzy Malone and AJ Tracey, though one of the Gallagher brothers would definitely be his biggest partnership yet.
However, LG already has a lot on his plate; back in October, he announced that he would be returning to Knebworth Park, the site of the historic Oasis gigs of 1996.
In the wake of the release of his new album, ‘C’MON YOU KNOW’, the Mancunian rocker took to Twitter to reveal that he will be taking to the iconic Knebworth stage over two decades on from the famous Oasis gigs.
He wrote: “I’m absolutely buzzing to announce that on 4th June 2022 I’ll be playing Knebworth. It’s gonna be biblical. C’mon You Know. LG x”.
There’s a Happy Mondays-themed party coming to the Northern Quarter
Get your maracas ready!
A Northern Quarter bar is throwing an epic Happy Mondays-themed party to get revellers nice and warmed up ahead of their epic AO Arena gig this week.
For the first time in over three decades, Mancunian icons the Happy Mondays and James will be hitting the stage together as part of their nation-wide two-month-long tour.
James singer Tim Booth said of the tour: “So looking forward to seeing you. We will pack two years of frustration and explosive joy into these gigs.
“It feels like a new dawn to trumpet a celebratory tour, a week after the first news of hope. We’re playing with the brilliant Happy Mondays. We last played with them in 1988, hopefully, this time they won’t steal our rider or try and spike my drink…”
So this Friday, when the musicians come back to Manchester for their homecoming gig at the AO Arena, a Northern Quarter venue has decided to throw an epic Happy Mondays-themed party to get concert-goers nice and warmed up.
The Pen & Pencil will be hosting pre-drinks for all concert-goers (and for the rest who sadly couldn’t get their hands on tickets) in the form of a party guaranteed to get everyone in that Happy Mondays mood.
The party will be taking this Friday, December 3rd place from 4pm – 7pm, with the city’s finest tunes coming courtesy of Mancunian legend Clint Boon, who’ll be banging out all of the best Madchester hits, plus loads of Mondays and James to really get you going.
Tickets aren’t required for entry, all you’ll need to do is turn up and have a good time.

Atomic Kitten are reuniting to go on massive 2022 tour with Blue
The throwback of all throwbacks…
In what could be the most 2001 announcement ever, Atomic Kitten has revealed that they’re reuniting to embark upon a massive tour with Blue.
The girl band confirmed that they will reform next year in 2022 to celebrate twenty-two years since the release of their debut album, ‘Right Now’ (yes, you’re that old).
Their motivation to get back on stage comes from the massive success of their parody song ‘Southgate You’re The One’ during the Euros2020 tournament this summer, which reached number four in the iTunes music chart and gave the girls another top 20 official chart hit to add to their credits.
In a statement, Scousers Liz, Tash and Jenny said: “Last summer we got to experience a glimpse of our previous lives and we loved it.
‘Fifteen years later with no rehearsals and nervous as ever we took to the stage in the middle of Trafalgar Square where the atmosphere in London was alive, as England came together to support the final of Euro2020.
“It was enough to light the fire between us and we can’t wait to see what new memories we can make in 2022.”
And if that wasn’t exciting enough, the girls also announced that they will be joining boy band Blue on an arena tour of the UK and Ireland on the Blue 20th Anniversary Heart and Soul Tour.
Blue star Duncan James tweeted: “It’s official! We’re going back on tour , this time we are taking our good mates @AtomicKOfficial with us!!! Come see us! Tix [sic] available from Friday.”
Exact dates for the Atomic Kitten tour are yet to be announced, so make sure to keep checking their socials for updates.
