Cadbury has released mini cookie bites and they look so delicious.
New chocolate-based product releases are just about the only thing that has saved 2020. We’ve had it all – and a lot of orange flavoured stuff too.
This time though, we’ve got these cute little Cadbury Cookie Bites. The mini bites are filled with chocolate chips and then half-dunked in Cadbury chocolate.
The mini and moreish delights have been described as similar to Cadbury Animal biscuits and we all need that kind of lunch box nostalgia in our lives.
Those on a post-lockdown diet will want to know that a ‘serving’ of these treats – which is just 10 biscuits – is 135 calories, while the whole bag is around 2,000.
They’re in Tesco stores now for just £1.50 for a 90g bag. Find your nearest store here.
There’s also the new Oreo crunchy bites which see the classic chocolate biscuits with vanilla filling but all wrapped in a chocolate coating. A 100g bag will set you back £1.50 in Tesco.
Cadbury product development team have been working seriously hard this year as the new Cookie Bites aren’t the only new chocolates on shelves recently.
There’s also the new Cadbury Crunchy Melt which sees chocolatey cookies stuffed with delicious vanilla Oreo cream.
They sound absolutely perfect for a brew dunk, get that chocolate all melted! Mmmmmm….
Mana is selling the first Michelin Star burger in Manchester
Will you be trying one of these?
Manchester’s only Michelin Star restaurant, Mana, has launched a new takeaway burger which is available during lockdown.
The Michelin Star cheeseburger is made with a Lake District Farmer’s Belted Galloway smoked beef patty, put together with shin, brisket and rump cap.
It’s then topped with Mana’s own American-style cheese, made with St Andrew’s Cheddar and Cloudwater beer, placed in a potato and brown butter bun, and finished with Koji and dill mayonnaise, iceberg, and green onion paste.
The burger will set you back £16, and you can also grab some drinks for £5 each if you’re thirsty, including a lime, raw sugar, mint, and cucumber soda, a sorrel and matcha iced tea, and a fermented Banks’ Tomato and oregano soda.
Mana spent the eight days before launching it testing different beef cut ratios, cheese slice thicknesses and woods to smoke the patties, and according to them it’s ‘the best burger we’ve ever had’.
Head Chef, Simon Martin said: “As well as keeping the business afloat and continuing to keep our team’s livelihoods intact, I also wanted this to be a fun exercise.
“As much as I miss our usual setting and the all-encompassing activity it provides, the idea of doing something so familiar for people became a really endearing challenge in the meantime.
“Almost everyone has had a great burger, especially in Manchester where humble foods are commonly elevated, so people will have a comparison to make whilst we’re trying to deliver the best version of something they’ve ever had.” ⠀
The team at Mana chose burgers as it’s a classic comfort food that almost everyone likes to eat, and they have plans to start doing tacos in a few weeks and potentially fried chicken as well (depending how long it takes them to reopen properly).
As a token of appreciation, all NHS staff are entitled to one free burger per order every Wednesday, you will just need to bring an NHS ID on collection.
Numbers are limited to just 100 burgers per day, and are available from Wednesday to Saturday, to collect between 12pm and 4pm.
If you want to grab one booking is required via Tock-to-go, where you can book a slot up to three hours in advance of collection – prepayment is required to minimise contact.
BrewDog is giving away free beer to everyone in the UK to cheer us up during lockdown
All UK residents will be pleased to hear they can now grab some free beer courtesy of Brewdog.
BrewDog’s CEO took to Twitter to announce the news that they will be giving away a four pack of beer to anyone in the UK.
The only catch is that you have to pay the £1.95 for shipping!
All you have to do to receive your free pack is head over to BrewDog’s website and enter your details.
Of course, you will have to join a bit of queue on the website because everyone is after some free beer – at the time of writing the queue time is currently at around 30 minutes.
You’ll have to be quick, though, as the offer ends at 7pm tonight (Tuesday January 12th).
If you want to know which beer you’ll be getting, you’ll be pleased to hear it’s their ‘Lost Lager’, the ‘world’s only carbon-neutral lager’.
The beers are made from surplus fresh bread and it’s all powered by wind turbines. Plus they will even be planting a tree for every four-pack purchased.
A brand new New York-style pizza restaurant has opened in Stretford
A great new addition to the area
A brand new pizza joint is opening on Chester Road in Stretford, promising proper old-school New-York style pizzas.
With the restrictions still in place, the new opening is available for delivery and collection now, including classics like Margherita (£8), Pepperoni & Hot Honey (£9), Coppa Ham & Wild Mushroom (£9) and Aubergine, Olive And Caper (£8).
Over the next few weeks, they will also be adding bagels to the store with classic New York fillings like Ruben, Salt Beef and Liptauer; a Slovakian spicy cheese spread that you’ll find in every deli in Manhattan.
Owner Dave, a born and bred Stretfordian, says he has created something he can truly be proud of.
Dave is a true local, an alumni of The Sip Club and the Spirit of The Essoldo Cinema Club, he is a champion of the area in which he lives and works.
Alongside collection from the venue, you can get your pizzas brought to your door via SHOCAL the Urmston-based delivery service, which promises to have a more local and friendlier service than the big giants in the delivery industry.
SHOCAL even give back a percentage from every order to the local community.
