Disneyland has released the recipe for its infamous churros for a taste of Disney magic right in the comfort of your own home.
By now we’re all swamped with things to cook, make and bake at home. But this one will probs top your list.
Disney is famous for a few things, that mouse etc etc etc – but also CHURROS.
If you’ve ever skipped through the magical world of Disneyland you know exactly what this means – a little taste of heaven.
The recipe has been released over on the Disney Parks blog and will easily serve 4 people with the delicious snack – if you want to share.
- 1 cup of water
- 8 tablespoons butter
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¾ teaspoon ground cinnamon, divided
- 1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
- 3 egg
- 1 ½ cups vegetable or canola oil
- ½ cup sugar
- Combine water, butter, salt, and ¼ teaspoon cinnamon in 1 ½-quart saucepan over medium heat. Bring to boil.
- Reduce heat to low.
- Add flour and stir vigorously until mixture forms into a ball. Remove from heat and rest for 5-7 min.
- Add eggs, one at a time, and stir until combined. Set aside.
- Heat oil in medium skillet or 1-quart saucepan over medium-high heat or until temperature reaches 350˚.Spoon dough into piping bag fitted with large star tip. Pipe 1-
- Inch strip of dough over saucepan, cut with knife, and drop into hot oil. Repeat until churro bites fill saucepan with room to fry.
- Fry churro bites until golden brown. Remove with slotted spoon or mesh spider strainer.
- Drain churro bites on paper towel.
- Mix sugar and ½ teaspoon cinnamon in a medium bowl and coat churros
- Serve with favourite dipping sauce.

The new hidden gem serving up huge, authentic Greek street food platters
Look at those gyros!
Located in a rather obscure spot on a street in the middle of Trafford, there’s a new hidden gem serving up authentic Greek street food.
Geropolis, situated on the boundaries of Stretford, Gorse Hill and Firswood, is a revelation, an oasis of proper Greek dishes from gyros to some additions you won’t find at your average restaurant.
It’s been open for around 5 months now, and the menu features classics like gyros kebabs, filled with chicken, doner, halloumi and even spicy sucuk sausage.
In addition, they also do a wide selection of mains, from souvlaki chicken (£7.50) to biftekia tiri (£8.50), which is minced beef and lamb skewers stuffed with cheese and topped with salad, tzatziki, chips and pita breads.
There’s also a selection of meze platters, both meat-filled and veggie, a special skepasti sandwich (£7.00) which is a bit like a Greek quesadilla, and even their own baklava (£3).
And of course there’s an impressively long list of starters or small dishes to kick things off, including tzatziki, hummus, Greek olives, halloumi, gigantes beans and the aforementioned sucuk sausage.

There’s a new party bar and terrace serving up crazy cocktails in Spinningfields

If you like your cocktails delicious and a bit out there, then you need to get yourself down to Spinningfields.
Clubhouse, previously located in Hatch, has opened a brand new party bar and terrace where they are serving up all kinds of weird and wonderful cocktails.
The new spot opened its doors last week as lockdown restrictions eased, over at Leftbank in Spinningfields.
Clubhouse will be bringing their own blend of mayhem and late-night partying to this corner of the city centre, and comes complete with a brand new terrace area.
They’ll be serving up a range of cocktails guaranteed to put a smile on your face and a spring in your step, including their Espresso Creme (£8), made with bourbon, espresso liqueur, coffee, custard syrup and a custard cream.
There’s also the Unicorns N Stuff (£8), which comes with pink gin, strawberry liqueur, marshmallow syrup, sour mix, all topped with a massive flump.
Top of your list should be the truly unique Tropical Margarita (£9), with tequila, melon liqueur, tropical juice, passion fruit puree and some Haribo Tangfastics thrown in for good measure.
Or you can just go all out and have a Tiki Time (£10), which comes with all the rums and Jagermeister.
There’s also an impressive range of shots available, including ‘Kickstart My Heart’, a lethal mix of honey tequila, coconut tequila and a few hearty glugs of Lou’s Hot Sauce.

There’s a hidden woodland den serving up pizza and coffee that you can only get to on foot
You’ll have to walk a few miles, but it’s worth it
Walking through the woods is a great way to pass the time on a weekend, but the one thing a countryside trek through has always been missing is pizza.
Well not anymore, as there’s now a hidden den in Greater Manchester serving up pizza and coffee that you can only reach by foot.
You can grab artisan coffees and freshly made wood-fired pizzas, all the while taking in the fantastic scenery.
Into The Wild is located in the woodland outside Altrincham and you have to walk a few miles to find it – a great way to encourage people to go on a countryside walk.
The project began with just a coffee van, which is open every day, but now owner Adam Taylor has added a wood-fired oven which is serving up pizzas every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Into The Wild encourages people to leave their cars in Bowdon or Altrincham and head out on one of two walks, either a 3.8km easy route or a longer 5.2km route.
The company’s website says: “We set up our spot in the woodlands to encourage people here… not cars. We’ve got some wonderful circular routes so you can enjoy the great outdoors and leave your car at home.”
You can grab a few different pizzas, including a classic margherita (£8), prosciutto and rocket (£10) and the chef’s special foraged pizza with wild garlic (£11.50).
Coffees, teas and hot chocolates are also available all week long, served from a wood-cladded coffee van which has been designed to blend into the woodland.
They’re hoping to reintroduce bushcraft events, survival weekends, yoga and corporate training when lockdown restrictions ease further.
