It isn’t unreasonable to argue that éclairs are perhaps the best sweet treat going in the dessert world.
The French pastries – or the pain à la Duchesse, if you want to get technical – have become massively popular on this end of the pond for their pastry cream fillings and delicious fondant toppings.
And now, just when you thought these tasty pastries couldn’t get any better, Cadbury has unveiled its very own range of éclairs, complete with Dairy Milk chocolate and fresh cream.
And before you try to say that Cadbury Eclairs have been around for years; these are a little different.
While Cadbury has indeed been selling their small toffee ‘eclairs’ for decades (the ones found in the bottom of a tub of Heroes), their latest invention are authentic choux pastry eclairs.
The tasty treats, which are already been spotted in supermarkets by a number of excited Instagrammers, are described as being, ‘Choux pastry eclairs filled with cream and topped with Dairy Milk chocolate topping decorated with a Cadbury’s Flake.’
Yep, they even come with a Flake.
You can now buy a two-pack of Cadbury Chocolate Eclairs for just £2 in all Asda stores now.
This comes just after the launch of Cadbury’s ‘half and half Creme Eggs’ competition, which sees 146 half milk and half white chocolate Creme Eggs hidden in various retailers across the country, each of which boast generous cash prizes.
But there’s a catch; each half and half Creme Egg are wrapped up in regular Creme Egg packaging, so hunting one down is going to be quite the challenge.
Each egg is worth a different sum of money, too; there are just six eggs worth £10,000, three eggs worth £5,000, four eggs carrying a £1,000 prize, twelve eggs worth £500 and the remainder carrying £50 prizes.

Greater Manchester chippies are giving away FREE fish and chips this August
Fancy a free chippy tea?
Hundreds of chippy teas across Greater Manchester will be reimbursed throughout August as part of a scheme to help small businesses with the cost of living crisis.
Sarson’s Vinegar has officially launched its #SarsonsFryday campaign, which will see hundreds of dinners be reimbursed for the remaining summer weeks.
The scheme was launched to extend a helping hands to struggling chippies across both Greater Manchester and the rest of the country amid the ongoing cost of living crisis.
To claim their free dinner, all customers will need to do is take a photo of their order and share it onto Twitter or Instagram with the tag @SarsonsUK and hashtag #SarsonsFryday.
To be valid, all entries must ensure they are following the Sarson’s official social media channels to be considered, and must have proof of purchase via a receipt for their meal.
Eastenders actor and chippy tea enthusiast Adam Woodyatt teamed up with the company to make the scheme a reality. He said: “#SarsonsFryday is a fantastic way to reward the loyal customers who keep our fish and chip shops open for business.
“It’s fair to say I know a thing or two about running a fish bar, and I encourage everyone to head to their nearest chippy and get their order in pronto, you never know it might be free!”
Bryan Carroll, Deputy Chief Operating Officer of Sarson’s, added: “The rising cost of living means we’re naturally all looking for ways to cut down our expenses, and sadly, one of the first thing that consumers cut back on is meals out and takeaways, leaving many of our favourite chippies at risk.
“As we enjoy the warmer weather, we wanted to help the nation support their local so we’re making everyone’s favourite day of the week even better with #SarsonsFryday.
“Whether it’s a staycation with friends, seaside visit with the whole family or a quiet Friday night in, we want to make sure Brits can get their fish and chip fix – so this summer, it’s on us!”

You can now get an Aperol Spritz burger in Manchester
The burger features a delicious Aperol hot honey butter marinade
To mark the arrival of summer appropriately, a restaurant here in Manchester has launched what could be the world’s first Aperol Spritz burger.
The Italian apéritif is a huge hit among Mancunians during the summer months, and is most commonly enjoyed as a spritz with gallons of prosecco.
But now, the orange-flavoured liqueur has been used in a whole new way to make what could be the biggest burger of the summer.
Fat Hippo, situated within the Great Northern Warehouse, has today launched its Aperol Spritz chicken burger ready for the summer months.
The one-of-a-kind burger features crispy buttermilk chicken in an Aperol hot honey butter, gem lettuce, parmesan crunch, cheesy garlic bacon crumb, and a creamy Caesar dressing, all encased within a seeded brioche bun.
The burger, priced at £13.50, also comes with a portion of seasoned fries.
But diners wanting to enjoy a truly Italian meal can upgrade their burger with Caesar Fries -loaded with Caesar dressing and a cheesy garlic bacon crumb – for an extra £1.50.
And, of course, Aperol Spritz cocktails can be ordered for the perfect pairing.
Managing Director and founder of Fat Hippo, Mike Phillips, said of the collaboration: “We’re big fans of an Aperol Spritz so when it came to thinking of a new special to celebrate the summer, this was a no-brainer.
“Inspired by classic Italian dishes our chefs have been busy experimenting with the bittersweet flavours of Aperol and the end result promises to take this iconic summer drink to the next level.”
The Aperol Spritz burger is available to eat in or to order via Deliveroo today (August 3rd) until August 29th.
Fat Hippo can be found within Lane 7 in the Great Northern Warehouse between 3pm-10pm Mondays-Thursdays, and 11am-10pm Fridays-Sundays.
