Families will be able to meet Thomas once again with the return of the popular Day Out With Thomas at East Lancashire Railway.

The family day out will give fans of the beloved children’s show the chance to take a ride on Thomas, as well as the opportunity to meet the famed Fat Controller.

They will also be able to watch performances from Rusty and Dusty, Sodor’s cheeky station sweepers.

Families will then get to say hello to Sir Topham Hatt, before Thomas takes them on a scenic half hour train ride from Bury to the beautiful Ramsbottom station.

The fun will continue across the road at Bury Transport Museum, where tickets will gain families access to a number of funfair rides, magicians, balloon modelling and face painting.

Rides are running across the May bank holiday weekend from April 30th to May 2nd, and then on the weekends of August 6th to 7th and October 1st to 2nd.

Lorna Massey, the sales and events manager at East Lancashire Railway, said on the return of Thomas: “We are delighted to welcome back Thomas the Tank Engine to the ELR’s tracks over a number of weekends from April to October.

“As one of our most popular experiences, the Day Out With Thomas events are a key fixture on the ELR’s calendar. Thomas is a much-loved childhood character for people of all generations, so the event always brings as much joy to children as it does to parents and grandparents.

“As well as taking a trip through Lancashire on Thomas, visitors will also meet Sodor’s Rusty and Dusty and Sir Topham Hatt and enjoy a host of activities offboard, so the experience will be a fun day out for all the family.”

Tickets must be booked in advance and cannot be purchased on the day.

A single adult ticket is priced at £22.70, while a children’s ticket costs £13.70. However, groups can save money with family tickets, with a group of four tickets (two adults and two children) priced at £66, and tickets for one adult and two children at £44.40.

Urban Playground has taken things to the next level, revealing three brand new games for thrill-seekers to sink their teeth into.

The Manchester Arndale entertainment venue, which is already home to an impressive array of games, has added even more fun to the line up.

From mini golf to arcade games and loads of food and drink, Urban Playground has everything you need for an incredible day out.

They’ve now added three new games to The Cube Live experience, ahead of the upcoming Christmas party season.

‘Pass’, ‘Exit’ and ‘Locate’ are the three new nail-bitingly tense games, and you’ll recognise them all from TV.

In Pass, two players rapidly weave a foam brick back and forth between free-standing poles, avoiding knocking the poles over as they go – requiring agility and great communication.

Exit sees two players work together manoeuvring a ball out of a maze testing their patience to the max.

Lastly, Locate is a single player game where players must memorise an illuminated white square’s location, before placing a block on it while blindfolded.

They’re all deceptively straightforward, while also fiendishly addictive, and perfect for a team day out.

Get booked in HERE to try the new games for yourself.
