The Oast House

The famous Oast House tipi – arguably one of the most festive aspects of Manchester every year – is officially open in time for the Christmas period.

Billed as a ‘winter escape in the heart of Spinningfields’, the Curious Tipi proves to be a massive hit each year, with thousands of people descending upon the site to enjoy a steaming mug of mulled wine next to an open fireplace – you know, those proper Christmas vibes.

And this year will fare no differently; after sadly being closed for the most part of the festive season last year, the tipi is back and there’s a ton of exciting stuff lined up.

To celebrate its tenth birthday, The Oast House has been throwing a number of parties, with the next being ‘Oastoberfest’ this Friday October 15th, the pub’s take on Oktoberfest with Back Chat Brass, tons of bratwurst and, of course, tankards upon tankards of its signature lager, Budvar.

There will be a special ‘Hanging Kebabs Showcase’ the week after on October 21st and, finally, a party celebrating both old and new Oast House staff members on October 29th.

The Oast House’s Matt Lewty said: “We’re super excited to bring back Manchester’s original – and most loved – Tipi. I’m looking forward to seeing old faces from days gone by for The Oast House staff celebration on October 29th.

“If you’ve ever done a shift behind the bar, hung a kebab, greeted guests, played the stage or ran around the floor helping customers, we’d love to see you celebrating ten incredible years.”

Throughout the winter there will also be a number of Christmassy events taking place, including the iconic Oast House cinema nights, their annual wreath making classes and, of course, the famous hanging kebabs.

The Curious Tipi will also be available to hire out for functions and staff dos throughout the festive period.

The Oast House is open from 12pm daily and can be found at The Avenue Courtyard, M3 3AY. For more information, head over to The Oast House website or follow the official Instagram page.
