The Liquor Store is turning ten next month and, to celebrate, it is throwing the ultimate birthday party complete with cocktails, DJs and an abundance of nostalgia.
On November 23rd 2012, local lads Doug Waldron and Brett Collier gave life to the much-loved bar, which was situated in a then-derelict part of Maybrook House on the corner of Blackfriars Street and The Parsonage.
At the time, the venue had no obvious operational function, and was even missing its front door, so the vision for its future was uncertain.
However, throughout the last ten years, The Liquor Store has become a Mancunian institution in its own right thanks to its quirky cocktails, fun team and quality rock ‘n’ roll tunes that are played late into the night seven days a week.
So to celebrate a whole decade of fun, the team at The Liquor Store will be throwing a monumental party to mark their incredible achievement.
Party-goers can expect live music, a drinks menu boasting the greatest Liquor Store cocktails from each year, food courtesy of Ate days a Week, sponsored pop-up bars with complimentary drinks and, of course, DJs playing music into the early hours.
Additionally, the best memories from the last ten years will be displayed for regulars and newbies alike to come together and reminisce.
Co-owner Doug Waldron said: “I am extremely proud of what the whole team has built up since opening in 2012.
“The guys behind the bar have always been our strongest asset, throwing parties for everyone seven nights a week with awesome service, standards, drinks and music.
“You can’t beat a Liquor Store party and this one will be one of the greatest! Happy Birthday TLS!”
The Liquor Store’s tenth birthday party will be taking place on Thursday November 24th, with guests asked to post their old pictures and videos from their nights down The Liquor Store onto social media with the hashtag #LiquorStoreMCRis10.
If the photos or videos are used for the party, they will get a free ticket to the party.
