The Libertines are coming to Manchester as part of huge 20th anniversary tour

The Libertines are celebrating their 20th anniversary in style with a huge nation-wide tour with extra dates right here in Manchester.

The rock band, known best for their eccentric lead singer Pete Doherty, are currently in the middle of their ongoing ‘Giddy Up A Ding-Dong Tour’ but have announced some extra dates to celebrate twenty years of their debut album, ‘Up The Bracket’, which was released in October 2002. 

According to a press release, The Libertines will also be soon ‘unveiling a series of all bells and whistles, no stone unturned, vault-pillaging releases to mark ‘Up The Bracket’’s momentous birthday’.

But what is known is that the band will be performing at three huge outdoor shows in Manchester, Hatfield and Cardiff along with one extra indoor show in Edinburgh.

The newly added shows will kick off at Manchester’s Castlefield Bowl on July 1st 2022 as a part of the epic 2022 Sounds of the City series, alongside other acts such as Foals, Lewis Capaldi, and Pixies.

The band will then move on to Hatfield House on July 22nd, Cardiff Bute Park on August 5th and Edinburgh O2 Academy on August 8th.

Tickets for the newly announced gigs go on sale at 9:00am on Friday December 3rd from Gigs and Tours.
