The train carriages used in the Harry Potter film are coming to Blackburn and Clitheroe this summer.

Calling all Harry Potter fans, the fully restored 1950s crimson carriages featured on Platform 9 and 3/4 will be heading up North.

The train, the Pendle Dalesman, will be taking passengers on a return journey over the Settle and Carlisle line.

A spokesperson said: “The 72-mile Settle-Carlisle line has been voted the second greatest railway journey in the world.

“In previous years we have run our popular Dalesman trip over a similar route, picking up passengers at Preston and Skipton.

“But from May 18 we will be complementing that with the Pendle Dalesman, which will stop at Blackburn, Clitheroe and Long Preston.”

The Settle to Carlisle line takes in 20 viaducts and 14 tunnels while travelling along the 72-mile track through the countryside.

The historic line which first opened in 1876 travels across the Pennine hills, and even travels over the famous Ribblehead Viaduct which was also used in the Harry Potter franchise.

Fares for a standard journey start at £45 for a child and £90 for an adult, going up to £265 for Premier Dining.

Unfortunately, the train won’t actually take you to Hogwarts but you can dream!
