Red Hot Chili Peppers have confirmed Manchester’s Emirates Old Trafford as one of their gigs during their massive 2022 world tour.
The American rock band announced their comeback last month, where they revealed they’d be heading back onto the road for the first time since their original guitarist John Frusciante rejoined the band after a ten year absence.
They will be performing brand new music from their forthcoming album as well as hits from their extensive musical career, which spans almost four decades and includes eleven studio albums.
The band will kick start their tour with a string of European dates in June next year before heading over to the U.K towards the end of the month perform in a number of locations like London, Glasgow and, of course, Manchester.
Wednesday June 22nd 2022 is the date Mancunians need to save, as that’s when the band will be making their UK debut at the Emirates Old Trafford Stadium.
From then, they will head to London Stadium on Saturday June 25th and then Glasgow’s Bellahouston Park the following week on Friday July 1st.
Joining the Chilis at their UK shows will be A$AP Rocky in Manchester and Anderson Paak & The Free Nationals in London and Glasgow, plus Thundercat across all of their U.K. dates.
Tickets will be going on sale next week on Friday October 15th at 10am through TicketMaster, though a fan pre-sale will take place a few days earlier on Wednesday October 13th, also at 10am.
