The Printworks is set to house a brand new bar with a crazy golf course and axe throwing, new reports have detailed today.

The attraction, Boom: Battle Bar, will be taking over the 8,800 sq ft former Lazy Lizard nightclub within the popular leisure complex. Lazy Lizard opened back in 2017 but lasted less than a year – the unit had previously been occupied by another night time venue, Entourage.

There are already a number of Boom: Battle Bar’s dotted in major cities across the country, including Liverpool, where it has proven to be a roaring success.

The upcoming Manchester venue will offer a whole array of exciting indoor activities including shuffleboard, digital darts, axe throwing, pool, marble racing, crazy golf and table tennis.

The company is also expected to open branches in Blackpool, Leeds, Edinburgh and Bath, among others.

Established by the team behind Flip Out, the UK’s leading adventure and trampoline park, Boom: Battle Bar combines food and drink with ‘unique games,’ ‘amazing spaces’ and ‘unforgettable experiences.’

Each Boom venue comes with bars serving ‘premium’ cocktails and other beverages, as well as a selection of street food stalls.

The Printworks’ latest addition comes just a year after a £9 million investment was secured for refurbishments, though work on the complex is yet to begin.

A planning statement by consultant Nexus Planning states: “DTZ acquired Printworks in early 2017 and has subsequently sought to evolve its tenant mix in order that it provides a well-rounded leisure offer, which supports both daytime and evening leisure use.”
