While we all love a good cocktail, it’s safe to say the majority of us aren’t very good at making them.

Anyone who’s attempted to concoct their own boozy mixes at home will agree that they definitely don’t taste as good as the ones you fork out a tenner for in a bar (mainly thanks to too much tequila and not enough bartender-approved syrup in your cupboards).

But luckily for you lot, The Liquor Store down Deansgate is now offering unique cocktail masterclasses certain to make pro bartenders out of even the most unruly of mixologists.

The masterclasses are tailored to each individual party, meaning they can be as educational or as crazy as you’d like, and can specialise in a certain type of spirit such as gin or whisky.

Included in each masterclass is a welcome glass of prosecco or beer with introduction from the host, a basic cocktail skills demonstration followed by a team skills competition and two cocktail demonstrations, explanation and brief history.

Wannabe bartenders will then be invited up to the bar to recreate each cocktail with guidance from the host, with the best cocktail winning a prize at the end of each round.

And unlike other masterclasses, The Liquor Store allows guests to recreate every cocktail off their menu, including the Girls, Girls, Girls (Martell VS Cognac, white chocolate liqueur and a Biscoff and date syrup), and the Manchester Mule (Absolut vodka, Vimto, fresh lime and ginger ale).

Sessions start from just £25 per person and can cater for parties of six to twenty-five, which includes four drinks each and a complimentary farewell shot for good measure.

And if cocktails aren’t your thing, The Liquor Store is also offering gin masterclasses, which will teach you everything there is to know about the history of the popular spirit (and how best to drink it, of course).

These masterclasses are run by some of the best bartenders in the city who truly know how to throw a party, so this is a must-try for your next night (or day) out.

Liquor Store is open from 4pm-3am Thursday – Sunday and from 12pm-3am Friday and Saturday. You can book your masterclass at any point during the bars opening hours here.
