Live From The Grill is returning to Manchester for another FREE weekend of incredible BBQ parties happening next month.
Live From The Grill 2023: Next-Level BBQ Parties will feature some of the city’s best food kitchens as they cook it out while fantastic live acts and DJ sets play funky beats and tunes, over Saturday September 2nd and Sunday 3rd.
The parties, held at the modern hangout of Deansgate Square, will kick off at around midday and wrap up at about 7pm on both days.
Cooking up a storm on the grills will be Hulme legends Knights Caribbean BBQ, Ancoats’ equally legendary Elnecot – who will be elevating the classic British BBQ – Food Sorcery’s Malaysian Grill, Salvi’s giant Neapolitan festival pasta and iconic sweet treat merchants Gooey.
Saturday will see a takeover by the Habitat crew, with Tone Rarri, AK Gramm, Zeyla and Rhod Parry, playing Amapiano, Afrobeat, Trap, House, Funky, and Dancehall, with the stage hosted by the inimitable Faro.
Then Sunday will be hosted by live music platform GigPig, with performances from Conor Michael alongside a full band, Zolatec (Steel Drum set), Foxglove, Ellysse Mason, and DJ sets from Rhod Parry and Scott Forrest – plus a special guest performance TBA.
For both days, Knights Caribbean BBQ will be serving up its popular dishes of jerk chicken, curry goat, mac and cheese, peppered cabbage, coleslaw and plantain, with a chickpea curry as a vegan option.
Elnecot will be bringing native breed burgers and bavette steak sandwiches, along with the Grandad’s Sausages they serve up from their grill at their Ancoats restaurant.
Food Sorcery will be glazing up some pork belly, Malaysian style, as well as pulled jackfruit in a brioche with spiced slaw.
Salvi’s, meanwhile, will be cooking a classic pasta e patate alla Napoletana – a fabulous pasta dish with potatoes – in a huge scale from a giant pan, as well as setting up a spritz bar with Aperol and limoncello spritzes.
For those craving something sweet to follow, Gooey will be bringing out their ice cream cart with a range of delectable gelatos.
And not forgetting that all that food will require something smooth, chilled and refreshing to wash it down with.
Manchester’s Finest has it all covered because at the event, they will be unveiling their new beer. Finest have been busy brewin’ with the Manchester Union Brewery to make their very own lager – a crisp, clean number with subtle hints of citrus, resulting in a refreshingly light and smooth finish.
