The iconic Lancaster Bomber will be taking to the skies near Manchester this weekend to mark the Dambusters anniversary.
For the last three years of World War Two, the aircraft was the major heavy bomber used by the RAF, and eventually became known as the ‘best night time bomber of the war’.
May 14th and 15th will mark nearly eighty years since the famed bouncing bomb raids on Germany in 1943 and, to commemorate the occasion, the Lancaster Bomber will fly once again over several areas close to Manchester.
On Saturday, it will be seen above the skies at a number of northern locations including Long Eaton in Nottinghamshire, Hardwick Hall in Derbyshire and Marbury in Cheshire.

And the following day on Sunday May 15th, the aircraft will fly once more as a part of the RAF Bomber Command Remembrance flight on Sunday.
