If you’re looking for a way to get the kids out of the house this half term, we’ve got the perfect thing for you. For two weeks this February, the Art of the Brick is doing free tickets for children with every paying adult.
The globally renowned Lego touring exhibition opened in Manchester last November, and boasts nearly 100 pieces of art.
Art of the Brick
Created by award-winning artist Nathan Sawaya, Art of the Brick showcases a whole load of stunning sculptures made up of more than a million Lego bricks.
The exhibition has spent the last five years touring the world, and will be residing in Manchester until April 2020.
Sawaya said: “My goal with this exhibition, when it first debuted in 2007, was to elevate this simple plaything to a place it had never been before.
“I use Lego bricks as my medium because I enjoy seeing people’s reactions to artwork created from something with which they are familiar. Everyone can relate to it since it is a toy that many children have at home.
“The museum exhibition is accessible because it engages the child in all of us while simultaneously illuminating sophisticated and complex concepts.”
Art of the Brick
Art of the Brick is being held at Unit 5 in the Great Northern Warehouse in Manchester, and prices currently start from £9.50 for children and £14.50 for adults, while concessions get in for £12.00 and a family of four for £42.00. However, if you book online to go between Monday February 10th and Sunday February 23rd, you’ll get one free child’s ticket with every paying adult ticket.
