A special event will be putting a wonderfully Mancunian twist on the Bavarian beer festival, Oktoberfest, this autumn.

With a number of travel restrictions in place, any plans to get away to the beer capital of the world in time for Oktoberfast aren’t looking too good. So, low and behold, the famed beer festival is coming to us.

Appropriately named Manctoberfest, the weekend-long beer festival will be landing at the Bowler’s Exhibition Centre where it will be hosting a unique mix of both Bavarian and Manc cultures.

While there will be an abundance of steins overflowing with authentic German lagers, there will also be a northern soundtrack provided by local tribute acts for Oasis, The Stone Roses, New Order, Happy Mondays and The Courteeners.

There will also be DJ sets from Clint Boon and a live traditional Oompah Band. Talk about a mix of cultures…

German food market stalls will also be in attendance dishing up German grub throughout the event such as pretzels, bratwursts and currywursts.

The event’s description reads: “Sampling a taste of the most exciting Bavarian extravaganza, JBM Music & Manchester Adored are teaming up to bring Munich’s famous ‘Oktoberfest’ to the North-West.”

The event will take place on October 1st and October 3rd with Friday’s party beginning at 6pm and finishing at 2am. After a day off, the event will return to the arena on the Sunday afternoon from 2pm until 11pm.

Traditional Bavarian dress is preferred, of course.
