Brace yourselves, Manchester – a whole month of beer festival fun is about to descend upon our city.

This year, ‘a kind of’ Summer Beer Thing will be leaving its usual residency at Sadler’s Yard to set up shop at the new city centre garden neighbourhood, Kampus next month.

The one month-long pop-up will introduce Summer Beer Things’ operator Common & Co to Kampus and its residents ahead of the opening of the flagship unit, Cornerstone, in the Autumn.

In this latest guise, Summer Beer Thing will feature a bar with 8 rotating taps of the finest and most sessionable beers around, natural wines, cocktails, softs, and delicious ice cream snacks, all with support from Salt Beer Factory and Sipsmith Gin.

There will also be a number of local food vendors in attendance, though the names are yet to be confirmed.

A celebration of all that is ‘seasonal, regional, and interesting in the world of beer and beyond’, the Summer Beer Thing originally launched in 2017 at Sadler’s Yard, with over 1,000 people visiting across the weekend each year.

Originally a showcase for a variety of different beer styles, it became much more of a party with craft beer as the focal point, but far from the whole picture.

The event will be kicking off on Friday, July 2nd – it is completely free, dog friendly and runs on a walk-ins only basis, so first come, first serve!
