Manchester’s only accessible rave is returning to YES Basement for a summer party on Thursday July 21st.

For the event, the nightclub will open up the dance floor to adults with learning and physical disabilities who feel otherwise unable to attend clubbing events in Manchester.

The aim of the night is to create a safe and welcoming environment, and was founded by Alice Woods – one quarter of the team behind Meat Free.

Under One Roof has had three successful years of raving in the city, with Alice setting it up to overcome the issues that cause a large portion of society to miss out on clubbing – like physical access to clubs and overwhelming new environments.

This time round, they welcome the very talented The Fat Britney behind the decks, someone who has not let their own disabilities stand in the way of DJing.

Described as a curvy curator of camp, she makes up one-half of FATCAMP collective.

Resident of PREACH Club, Rainy City Radio and Steam FM, The Fat Britney refuses to take herself seriously and doesn’t encourage you to either.

She said:“If parties won’t make themselves accessible, we’ll throw our own. Smash every door in and put a ramp down! See you on the dance floor!!”

As always with Under One Roof, partygoers can expect pumping music to dance along to and an amazing rave with family, friends and carers.

Under One Roof returns on Thursday July 21st from 6pm – 9pm, and will set you back £4 (Carers FREE).
