A free and accessible club night for adults with learning disabilities is making its grand return to Manchester this week.

Under One Roof was founded in 2019 by Meat Free co-founder Alice Woods, who wanted to create an event that would give disabled adults the opportunity to enjoy nightclubbing in a safe and inclusive environment.

The unique parties welcome disabled ravers and adults with learning difficulties, as well as their family and carers.

They also boast a reduced venue capacity, allowing those in wheelchairs to move around freely, with the basement and toilets all fully accessible.

And this Saturday (July 23rd), Under One Roof is returning to Manchester to host an inclusive club night completely free of charge.

The event will be taking over the Terrace at The Refuge from 5pm, and will see founder Alice take to the decks under her DJ monkier Aalice.

Aalice currently holds a residency at Hidden, and has performed at a number of parties and festivals all across the country, from the infamous AVA Boiler Room to Field Maneuvers, Festival No. 6 and Innercity Electronic.

Also taking to the stage across the event will be twenty-year-old Jake Smith, a DJ and producer from Cheshire.

Jake hasn’t let his Cerebral Palsy stop him from pursuing his dreams as a DJ, and has performed in far-flung locations such as Ocean Beach in Ibiza and Creamfields Festival.

Jake said on his upcoming gig: “I want to change peoples perceptions of disability, and to show people that if you have a disability it can’t stop you achieving your dreams.”

Under One Roof will be taking over the Terrace over at The Refuge this Saturday, July 23rd, from 5pm, and will be completely free to enter.
