If you’ve got kids, or even if you just want to inject a little bit more festive fun into your Christmas, you’re going to love this one.

You can welcome one of Santa’s reindeer into your house this Christmas, simply using an app.

That’s right, McDonald’s is relaunching its Reindeer Ready Live app, following its hugely successful run last year.

McDonald’s

You’ll be able to download the app from today, Wednesday December 18th, and it allows the user to capture footage of one of the famous festive reindeer in their very own home.

Using the magic of technology, you can catch Rudolph, Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donder or Blitzen in the act on Christmas Eve, as the big guy drops off presents at your gaff.

To get involved, simply head to the Reindeer Ready website on tablet or phone – desktop won’t work, unfortunately.

Next simply click ‘Get Started’ and ‘I’m Ready’, before either choosing a photo or taking one of the area you want Rudolph to appear.

You can choose how the reindeer is positioned, and then 30 seconds after you’ve submitted your image you have your very own, realistic reindeer visitor.

So what are you waiting for? The kids will absolutely love this!

This month, a TikTok star went viral after revealing what Wetherspoons kitchens are really like – but he’s now been suspended.

The chef, known as J Salsa, posted videos on TikTok showing how Wetherspoons dishes are made, including a Full English, Chicken Korma and Chicken Wraps.

Some items were cooked from fresh such as fried eggs, but others were quite reliant on microwaves, leaving some TikTok users genuinely surprised.

In J Salsa’s latest video, captioned ‘I’m sorry Tim Martin’, he explains he has now been suspended for posting the videos, adding that his actions had been a ‘mistake.

He explained that when the company’s head office found out, they contacted the pub where he works.

He said: “My manager has had a meeting with me today about the whole thing, the whole situation. They were really calm about it, to be honest.

“They understood and I explained my point of view – it was a mistake.”

He continued: “I didn’t mean to cause no harm to the company. Long story short, I’m suspended until my disciplinary meeting where I will find out if I get fired or not.

“So no more Wetherspoon’s videos for now.”

But J Salsa is committed to the cause and told fans to expect plenty more content, adding: “I still got more though. I’ve got steaks for you, I’ve got burgers for you, but for now I can’t post them until I hear the decision.”

How to tell when your phone is listening to you or watching you

This is creepy…

Apple

Have you ever wondered whether your phone is listening in to you, or even watching you?

Well, Apple’s latest update for the iPhone means you won’t have to wonder anymore, you’ll actually be able to know for sure if it is.

Apple has added a ‘warning dot’ that will alert you if your microphone or camera is activated, meaning that if an app is recording you, you’ll know.

The change to iPhones comes with the new iOS 14 update, and as part of it an orange dot will appear in the upper right corner of the screen when your microphone or camera is activated.

Apple

You can then head to your Control Centre to find out which app is using the microphone.

If you suspect something’s not right, you can check the app’s permissions in Settings and deny it access to your microphone or camera, or even delete it.

Apple said: “Privacy is a fundamental human right and at the core of everything we do. That’s why with iOS 14, we’re giving you more control over the data you share and more transparency into how it’s used.

“An indicator appears at the top of your screen whenever an app is using your microphone or camera. And in Control Center, you can see if an app has used them recently.”

There’s been rumours that apps like Facebook have been listening in to us for years, with many users saying they’ve spoken about something, only for ads for that product to appear soon after – even though they’ve never searched for it on their phone.

Facebook has denied that it uses the phone’s microphone to snoop on its users.

Man spotted using massive snake ‘as face mask’ on bus into Manchester

Wow…

A man was spotted on a bus yesterday using an actual real-life snake ‘as his face covering’.

Yep, 2020 just keeps getting weirder.

The man, getting on the Swinton to Manchester service yesterday at Salford Precinct, gave other passengers a bit of a fright when they realised just what his ‘face mask’ actually was.

Passengers then watched as he removed the snake from around his face, and it slithered itself around the handrails.

Alison Jones shared the bizarre journey on the Swinton People Facebook group, including attaching pictures of the man with the snake around his face.

Speaking to the MEN, an eye-witness described the situation as ‘definitely entertaining’.

They added: “He had it wrapped around his face like a mask getting on the bus. At first I thought he had a really funky mask on, then he let it crawl around the hand rails.

“No one was really bothered on the bus but a man behind took a video. It was definitely entertaining.”

Not sure how successful a snake would be at stopping the spread of coronavirus – but at least he tried!
