A priest from Kilkenny in Ireland has told United and City fans to ‘suck it up’ while playing Liverpool’s ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ during mass.
Fr Tobin praised his parishioners for their ‘extraordinary’ efforts throughout coronavirus just before his final hymn for the day.
He said: “These times have not been ordinary, they have been extraordinary. But you have also been extraordinary good, and for that I thank you.”
He then added: “And for all the people from Liverpool or who support Liverpool, we are going to have our final hymn for you this morning and let the Man Uniteds, and the Man Citys, and the Chelseas, and all the rest of them, suck this up.”
Then the iconic You’ll Never Walk Alone blasted through the church speakers as he began his final prayers.
Some fans – definitely not Mancs – have praised Fr Tobin actions and the footage has been shared on an Irish Liverpool fan social media page with huge support.
One fan wrote: “We are so lucky to have Fr Tobin. Every Parish could do with a priest like him.
“He really understands people and is loved by all the school kids.”
One wrote; ‘Not a football fan… but that was fantastic,’ while another said: ‘That was great he did that! Well done Fr Tobin.’
Whether you’re a Red or a Blue, this hurts…
Gogglebox’s Julie Malone shows off impressive lockdown weight loss in new photo
She looks great!
Julie Malone from Gogglebox has shared a picture showing off her impressive weight loss throughout lockdown.
The Mancunian TV star has shown her weight change in a picture posted to Twitter, looking very different to how she normally appears on Gogglebox.
Julie is known for her families appearance on the hit Channel 4 show, with her two sons Tom Jr and Shaun, husband Tom and their four rottweilers who always steal the show.
Julie shared the picture with the caption: “good morning from a very dull Manchester (meaning the weather ). Anyone got a secluded sunny island they could lend me for a week or two ? X Julie”, and fans of the show were quick to notice how different she looked.
One user wrote: “You’re looking fabulous Julie!”, while another added: “looking gorgeous Julie”
Another wrote “Looking good Julie. You’ve lost weight during lockdown. Well done I’ve gone the other way!!”
Julie responded with: “I was going that way at first till I read the bigger you are the worse the Covid if you get it ! Just got a new Grandson and want to see them all grow up”.
When asked how she did it, Julie revealed her secret: “Just been cutting out the rubbish and eating healthier, making meals from the Pinch of Nom books as these are low fat and healthier.”
It’s not the first time the Malone family have made headlines throughout the pandemic either.
The family have been keeping busy doing TikTok challenges and dances, including Tom and Tom Jr.
Gogglebox is back on screens from September on Channel 4.
Cat from Rochdale who went missing 12 years ago has been found 230 miles away from home
A cat from Greater Manchester vanished 12 years ago, but has now been discovered living on a campsite 230 miles away from home.
Georgie, a 15 year-old-cat, has been missing since 2008, when she disappeared while the family were on a camping trip in Scotland.
The cat has been living on a campsite in Loch Lomond for a year, which is due to close. Rescuers were baffled to find the microchip registered to an address hundreds of miles away in Rochdale.
Rescuers have said her life for the past decade will ‘forever remain a mystery’.
Cats Protection Glasgow said: “Georgie’s family got her as a kitten and from when she was 12 weeks old onwards, she enjoyed regular camping trips with her family starting out on a lead.
“Eventually she would roam the grounds of where they were staying and would always come back no problem.
“Twelve years ago, her owner had a baby and Georgie took exception to this, so when they came up here to Loch Lomond on a camping trip in October 2008, on the final day, Georgie disappeared and never returned.
“Where she has been for the past 12 years might forever remain a mystery but she’s still really friendly so suspect she has definitely been around humans.”
Georgie’s shocked family have decided to not collect their cat and instead rehome her.
Rescuers continued: “Her family were obviously extremely shocked to find out that Georgie has been found 12 years later and although their heart is telling them to drive up to Glasgow straight away to collect her, all of us know it’s not the right thing for Georgie.
“Her family got another cat nine years ago who doesn’t like other cats and we suspect Georgie also doesn’t like other cats so it wouldn’t work and it would be quite a journey home for her only to discover what we already know.
“So Georgie will be cared for by us until we are ready to find her another loving home. Her previous family will keep in touch with us to find out how she’s doing while she’s with us.”
Cats Protection added this incident shows the importance of microchipping pets.
They said: “This story just shows the importance of microchipping your pet and also a message to everyone who has a missing pet, don’t give up hope as Georgie has been found after 12 years.”
We’ll never know what she got up to for the past decade but at least she’s been found safe and sound!
The Chase’s Mark ‘The Beast’ Labbett shows off his impressive weight loss in new photo
He looks great!
Mark Labbet, aka The Beast from The Chase, has wowed fans with an impressive weight loss.
He donned baggy trousers in a picture he shared on Twitter, saying he has a ‘long way to go’ but that he’s pleased with his weight loss efforts.
The quizmaster has been applauded by fans, with many saying ‘well done’, and another person adding ‘looking good’.
Another wrote ‘well-done lad, good on ya. It’s a hard graft especially after all the lockdown madness’.
The 6ft 6ins 54-year-old weighed 378lbs at his heaviest, but has detailed how his body has transformed in 2018.
Mark has previously turned down I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! for fears the diet of rice and beans wouldn’t be substantial enough for him.
He said: “I’ve been asked to do the jungle but the base calorie intake is about 700. Look at me! If I survived a week I’d drop three stone and cannibalism would be on the cards.
“On Sugar Free Farm the weight fell off me because I couldn’t eat enough. Does ‘The Chase’ need me big? Put it this way, whenever I start losing weight because I’m doing a fitness kick of whatever, the producers go past me and hand me a second portion of pudding.”
