Line of Duty fans have been warned that the first episode of the new series will be a bit of a ‘head wreck’.

It’s not too much longer to wait for Line of Duty fans who have been patiently waiting for the return of the sixth series.

Now, Adrian Dunbar who plays Superintendent Ted Hastings has revealed that the first episode will be a bit of a ‘head wreck’.

Speaking on the Graham Norton Show on BBC he said: “18 months have passed so the landscape has completely changed.

“We are starting from a place that the audience will probably find a bit shocking at first.

“Things and people have been moved around so the first episode is going to be one of those ‘head-wrecks’ for the audience.”

Last month a 15-second teaser for the BBC drama was released and fans were left buzzing when they realised it’s not too much longer to wait.

The much-loved drama will be heading to screens this month, on Sunday March 21st at 9pm!

The highly anticipated sixth series was teased in a tiny clip featuring Adrian Dunbar returning as Superintendent Ted Hastings, Vicky McClure as DI Kate Fleming and Martin Compston as DS Steve Arnott.

A new recruit has also been confirmed for the series in the Anti-Corruption Unit 12, with Shalom Brune-Franklin as DC Chloe Bishop.

The upcoming series will be the longest ever with one additional episode, making it seven instead of six.

Fans on Twitter simply cannot contain their excitement. One wrote: “The music just gives you goosebumps and gets your heart racing.”

While a second added: “The best programme on TV! Watched it faithfully since the 1st series when it was on BBC2.”

A third said: “Nothing else matters but Line of Duty.”

The drama airs on March 21st at 9pm on BBC One. Who’s excited?
