A family from the UK who are currently on holiday in Spain appeared on Good Morning Britain.

The Brady family were already on a two-week holiday when the quarantine rules for Spain changed, meaning they will now have to self-isolate for two weeks when they return to the UK.

And viewers weren’t sympathetic to their plight, going as far as to call the family ‘idiots’ for risking a holiday abroad.

The Brady family told GMB hosts Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway that the rule change was an inconvenience, adding that it might affect their business because they won’t be able to work when they get home.

According to them, they wouldn’t have gone on the holiday if they’d know the guidelines would change.

Ben said: “There was always a concern wasn’t there? Because we knew Spain wasn’t free of coronavirus, that maybe some of these spikes would happen.

“What sort of precautions had you taken before you decided to leave and go on holiday?”

Mum Jo responded: “We thought long and hard about going on holiday, we made the decision quite late on, once the Foreign Office had said non-essential travel was OK again.

“We also have friends that live out here and we were in touch with them and they said that everyone out here was following the rules and wearing masks.

“We decided to take the risk, obviously we would not have done that if we had known we’d have to quarantine for 14 days when we got back.”

The Brady family said they were going to try and enjoy the rest of their holiday, saying they were going to ‘make the best of a bad situation’, but people on social media weren’t very sympathetic.

One wrote on Twitter: “So are we supposed to feel sorry for this daft arse family can’t be that much of a Financial impact as you can afford to go on holiday when most family can’t afford to put food on table shouldn’t of gone simple thick as pudding.”

Another added: “No sympathy tbh, the guy had enough money to take his family on holiday now he’s worried about not being able to work,! everyone knows the risks, didn’t they think Spain could have a lockdown as well!”

A third added: “#GMB idiots who are going on holiday Spain knowing there is a world pandemic of a virus that we haven’t got a cure for and yet these are the sort of people who are going to bring the virus back to the UK and cause another lockdown selfish w**kers”.
