A BBC weather presenter had a brilliant response to a viewer who complained about his weather reports.

Owain Wyn Evans presents the weather on BBC North West Tonight, but one viewer begged him to stop his cheery ‘hello my dahlings’ catchphrase.

Luckily, he had the perfect clap back that had every one gassed.

The viewer messaged Owain on Twitter with: “Please no more ‘hello my darlings’, just present the weather!”.

He put the issue to bed with a perfect one-liner: “It’s spelt ‘my dahlings’ as a matter of fact”, complete with the nail painting emoji.

Pretty much everyone else loves Owain for bringing a smile to their faces throughout the coronavirus pandemic.

And his fans flooded in swiftly with messages of support for him, and not a lot of love for the ‘grumpy’ viewer’s complaint.

One fan said: “You’re a breath of fresh air and put a smile on everyone’s (almost everyone it seems) face.”

While another added: “You make the weather forecast agreeable even when it’s bad news. And I’m not even from the UK.”

Another said: “You carry on just as you are mate! You’ve been a breath of fresh air on NW Tonight, and I should mention that my old mum, in her 80s, gets a glint in her eye when your forecast comes on!”

Owain went viral earlier on in lockdown too, smashing out a drum solo to the BBC News theme tune in a full three-piece suit. Not a single hair fell out of place and he finished it by flashing a smile to the camera at the end.

It’s not the first time the BBC News theme tune has gone viral in lockdown either, after all, for a brief stint it was the only tune we heard everyday when we were cooped up inside waiting on another Bo-Jo announcement.

Big up Owain for keeping us all entertained in lockdown, and for the BBC’s theme tune for being the banger we all needed.
