In case you missed it earlier today, an emotional interview on Good Morning Britain left the nation in tears.
94-year-old Ken Bembow was on the show after a video of him receiving an amazing gift at his care home went viral.
In the video, care home worker Kia Tobin gives Ken a pillow with his late wife’s picture on it, after noticing he slept with a photo of her every night.
Ken, a World War II veteran, broke down during the live GMB interview this morning as he remembered his late wife Aida – he appeared on the show alongside 17-year-old Kia.
The pair spoke to Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid on the ITV show, with both presenters and the audience admitting they were left in tears.
Ken started sobbing as he recalled receiving the amazing gift from Kia, speaking about his and Aida’s 71-year marriage, saying she was ‘the most loving, caring, beautiful wife you could wish for’.
Talking about the pillow, he added: “It was so touching, it was lovely, the most precious thing that anyone could ever wish for.”
Kia said: “It was amazing. It was just so rewarding. It was something small that made him so happy.”
Piers went on to say that ‘everyone watching got very emotional’, while Susanna admitted to crying ‘at least three times’ while she was off-camera.
And the public were also in pieces over the heart-wrenching story.
One person wrote on Twitter: “I can’t type for the tears in my eyes, what a lovely story”, while another added: “Crying right now what a lovely man and to his carer Kia well done you lovely girl.”
A third tweeted: “I’m an emotional wreck now, thanks GMB.”
