Your Tesco Clubcard can come in handy for all sorts of things on top of money off your shopping – but did you know you can use it to get free pints of beer?
Tesco Clubcard members can enjoy more than just money off their weekly shop, they can also enjoy things like earning Virgin Atlantic flying Club points, discounts off Disney Plus and trips to Alton Towers.
But did you know that you can also use it to get free pints at a major UK pub chain? –That’s right.
It’s because Tesco has partnered with craft ale experts BrewDog, meaning customers can get money off their drinks and food with their Clubcard.
The scheme is valid at most BrewDog branches nationwide and beer-drinking Tesco Clubcard members can get £1 off for every 50 points.
So, for a free pint costing £6, you will need 300 Tesco Clubcard points. But you can use the points you have to get money off your lager if you don’t quite have enough of them for a free jar.
James Watt, founder of the Scots brewery, said: “With an existing customer base of over 21 million active Clubcard members, we’re delighted to be the only restaurant partner to offer pints in return for points.
“Everyone is feeling the cost-of-living squeeze, so if we can help people with the cost of our beer where possible, you can bet your pint on it that we will.”
But, the offer does come with some terms and conditions: The points can only be redeemed against alcoholic drinks if you’re buying food – with a limit of two alcoholic drinks per person.
So, if you want more than two pints with your meal, you will have to pay for any additional pints. However, if you’re drinking non-alcoholic drinks, there is no limit on using your points for those.
There you have it, Tesco Clubcards can come in pretty handy, as the supermarket giant says: “Every little helps!”
Cards can be scanned to get items at a cheaper rate when you shop as well as redeeming points to get money off at checkout. For convenience, you can download the app on your smartphone and simply scan the QR code at the till, or get the keyring version.
