A woman has slammed her local takeaway after it allegedly delivered her order a whole twenty hours late.

Ruth Anderton took to Facebook this week to explain that her £23.50 order from Sangam Balti House in Lostock Hall, Preston was so severely delayed that it didn’t arrive until the next evening.

Ruth had ordered a sharing meal for three people with a portion of fries and a bottle of Coca-Cola at 10:06pm on February 20th.

However, it didn’t arrive until 6pm the next day, February 21st.

Sharing a screenshot of her order status into the Preston Restaurant & Take Out Reviews Facebook page, Ruth wrote: “Sangam Balti house, Lostock Hall. Take look at the time and date ordered. When did it turn up? 6pm the day after.”

She explained that she rang up the takeaway several times throughout the evening to chase up her order, and was only told the following day that no orders are accepted past 10pm.

Her post continued: “I was ringing to see where it was the night before but no answer. When I rang the day after, the bloke on the phone said no more orders were taken after 10pm. But they were quick enough to take the money straight away.

“Within a couple of minutes a delivery driver was knocking on my door whilst I was still on the phone. 19 hours late.

“I said how unimpressed I was and he said he’d refund me by sending a driver the day after with my money. Never showed. Must have clocked my number and ignoring me.”

Of course, people couldn’t believe that a takeaway could take so long to arrive, with many putting the blame on the PrestonEats website.

One person pointed out the bright side, however, writing: “It’s always better day after [sic] Ruth”, to which Ruth replied: “I was f***in hungry night before”.

According to Lancashire Live, the takeaway has been contacted about the incident but is yet to comment.
