A hilarious video showing the moment an Oldham man spun uncontrollably on a ride at Blackpool Pleasure Beach has been doing the rounds online.

While visiting the popular theme park last week, James Shallcross decided to brave the Red Arrows SkyForce ride, which stands seventy-two feet tall and takes riders on a 360 degree tour of the skies in makeshift Red Arrow airplanes.

Riders are also able to control their own Red Arrows ‘cockpit’ to move their airplane from side to side as it soars through the sky – something that James mastered to a whole new level.

In the video, filmed by Chloe Hoyle, James’ airplane can be seen dramatically spinning as it soars through the air as he shouts, ‘I can’t see straight’ and ‘I don’t even know if I’m upside down right now’, while Chloe laughed from the ground.

And – perhaps even more remarkably than the speed of the spinning and the fact he was the only one spinning – this was apparently James’ first time on the ride. Chloe told The Oldham Times:  “As soon as he went on it he mastered how to do it – he did show us how but I deleted the video.

Speaking of the video, which has since surpassed 2 million views, Chloe said: “This is the first video I’ve ever posted that’s gone viral so it’s a big shock to me.”

She added that James himself was ‘shocked’ at the popularity of the video and ‘wasn’t expecting it to go viral’, saying: “His family think it’s hilarious that so many people have seen it.”

TikTok users were just as amused, with one person writing: “The fact that he’s the only one spinning makes it so much more funny.”

Another noted: “Him shouting, you laughing, and all the spinning… I’m literally dead. I watched it 6 times, I swear it gets better every time.”

Though this isn’t the first time a ride at Blackpool Pleasure Beach has gained viral attention; for decades, there has been talks of eerie, real-life hauntings within the infamous Ghost Train
