Tesco is launching a huge half-price toy sale ideal for parents looking to get a head start on their Christmas shopping.

Starting from Monday October 3rd, toys on sale at the supermarket will be discounted by up to 50%, with prices starting from as little as £7.50.

Some of the products included in the flash sale include a Lego Friends Value pack, which will be down from £40 to £24 – a saving of £16.

Shoppers will also be able to pick up a y-pro football table for £12, half price from its usual cost of £24.

However, there’s a catch.

As is the case with many of Tesco’s deals and discounts, shoppers will need a Clubcard in order to take advantage of the toy sale.

Clubcard holders can enjoy reduced prices across a whole range of Tesco products – including the famous £3 meal deal – and can also collect points to spend on products later down the line.

Anne Borrett, Tesco’s toy category manager, said: “We know that with the cost of living squeeze, Christmas can be quite a strain on the wallet, especially for families with more than one child.

“So we want to make it easier for them to spread the cost of buying presents.”

Tesco has wasted no time in getting into the Christmas spirit this year, with shoppers spotting festive chocolates and treats on offer as early as August.

As the UK sweltered in its second heatwave of the year, tubs of Roses and Quality Street were spotted out on display in a number of Tesco supermarkets across the country.

The majority of Tesco’s clientele weren’t too impressed with the premature arrival of Christmas, however, with one disgruntled customer writing: “@Tesco, no ice in stock, but don’t worry we have your Christmas chocolates.

“A fat lot of good that will do me while I’m sat on the sofa with a Solero under each a**e cheek.”

Another commented: “Tesco now has large tubs of Quality Street and Cadbury’s Roses on display if you fancy some Christmas-themed chocolate while you slowly roast to death.”
