Thousands of education workers could save up to 60% on their shopping thanks to a little-known discount scheme operating in a number of supermarkets and retailers.
Anyone who works in the education sector – whether it be teachers, teaching assistants, university staff, cleaners, admin staff or even volunteers – can use the Discounts For Teachers promotion, which offers a whole range of discounts and offers.
The promotion, which is free to use, can get discounts of up to 60% in TX Maxx, and up to 50% on certain products from online retailer Amazon.
Hotel stays and holidays are also included, with Booking.com giving 15% off of some stays for those using the promotion.

The discount can also be applied at retailers such as Argos, BooHoo, Asda, JD and EE.
While the promotion is free to use, there is an optional paid-for Ode Card that allows users to earn cash-back on purchases at fifty different retailers.
It allows users to earn cash-back of 3% in Waitrose and Sainsbury’s, and 2.5% in Asda. In the M&S department store, users can get 3%, while in John Lewis they can get 5%.
This card is free for twelve months, then costs £2.99 a year.
Some education workers have spoken out about their savings, with one woman claiming to have saved over £100 on kitchen gadgets and even some money on her car’s MOT.

Lindsey Walker wrote in a review of the promotion: “Absolutely love this site, wanted to get new kitchen gadgets was happy to find a code to use alongside the website sale and saved over a £100. Saved money on my car MOT too.”
Another woman claims to have received £200 worth of vouchers to spend in Asda thanks to the Ode Card cash-back discount, with her writing: “I love getting my cash-back and I even won £200 worth of Asda vouchers last year which went towards my Christmas shop!
“It’s so nice to feel appreciated for the work we do. Thank you!”
