If you’ve spent countless hours of your life searching high and low for the missing TV remote, prepare to kick yourself…

Because this week, it has come to everyone’s attention that Sky TV remotes have a very nifty function that makes finding them a whole lot easier.

The hack was discovered via a TikTok video (because where else these days?), where user @jodierebeccaxoxx demonstrated that a simple action on your Sky box can track down your missing remote in seconds.

In the video, which has since had over a million views, Jodie films herself demonstrating how if you hold the Q button on the Sky box, the remote will then issue a loud beeping noise so that you can then locate it (probably down the crack of the sofa, in my world).

Of course, viewers were completely mind-blown as to why they hadn’t found out about this feature sooner, with one writing: “No way can’t believe I’ve never know this?!”

Another user noted: “I only found this out because my 2 year old pressed it the other month… took me ages to realise that the remote was beeping!”

Sky are yet to formally announce the seemingly hidden feature, though they have been busy with something new; the world’s first ever satellite-free television.

The revolutionary Sky Glass will feature a 4K display, built-in Dolby Atmos, five different colour options, and costs £649 for the 43-inch version and £1,048 for the 65-inch version.

The end of the satellite dish will mean that customers will no longer require convoluted installations at their homes, a god send for many living in rented accommodation.

Instead, customers will simply have to connect their Sky Glass to their home WiFi connection and bring in their television connection through that. Sky has also claimed that the new TV takes just ten minutes to set up, and needs just one cable to work.
