The hilarious moment a dog stood up to use a urinal in the gent’s toilets was caught on camera by a stunned customer.
Dax, a five-year-old Mastiff-cross breed rescue, lives with his owner and pub landlady Danielle Duce at The Plough, in Stockport.
According to Danielle, it’s not the first time Dax has been caught on his hind legs using the urinals, but it was the first time it was caught on camera, by a group of lads on Sunday July 16th.
Danielle, 46, who runs The Plough insists she’s never taught Dax to go for a wee in this human-like manner and she’s not sure how he came to learn the habit.
Of how the unusual habit started, Danielle said: “When we moved in, after a few weeks one of the lads came running out of the toilets and said, ‘you’ve got to see this!’.
“But then a couple of lads did get a picture on Sunday and showed me and I was like, ‘Oh my god!’
“I think he’s got it from watching the lads — he definitely thinks he’s one of the lads. He’s such a character.”
Danielle also has another dog called Izzy, a 10-year-old Beagle, who prefers to do her wees down drains and grids. “I’ve got two very strange dogs,” she said.
Dax likes to roam around the pub grounds and mingle with the customers. Apparently, he will steal food from customers if they don’t keep an eye on their grub, even if it is plated and on the table.
She explained: “He slowly slid someone’s fish and chips away from them.”
About Dax’s character, Danielle added: “He is quite loud and it can be quite scary for people at first but once they get to know him they love him, and get to know the real gentle giant that he really is.”
Sharing the hilarious and unbelievable moment on The Plough’s Facebook page, Danielle wrote: “For any of our gentlemen punters that struggle with the basics of toilet training….. here’s a quick demonstration from our very own Dax!
“Needless to say, the punter who took the photos was a little surprised when the dog took a leak next to him, but after two years in this pub, nothing surprises me anymore!”
