A mum has shared a game-changing hack to help you shop more efficiently at Aldi.
Taking to Aldi Mums Facebook group, this pro Aldi shopper has revealed her hack for opening the little plastic bags that you need for fresh fruit and veg.
As everyone is avoiding touching their face as much as possible, the usual lick your finger tactic is pretty unsanitary.
This mum wrote: “If anyone struggles to open the produce bags like me, I’ve found a solution.
“On your way in, tie one of the sanitizer wipes to your trolley to moisten your fingertips!”
Other mums have hailed the solution as a ‘game-changer’ with her post racking up over 2,500 likes and hundreds of comments.
One person added: “Been doing this for a while now, works a treat, then after you’ve unloaded goods into car I use it to wipe steering wheel and hands and mobile phone and dispose of used wipe at home.”
Another fan of the tip wrote: “Omggggg thankyouuuu i was seriously struggling..”, while another simply added: “This is an excellent idea”.
The hack might not be very useful for long though…
The supermarket chain is making strides in its efforts to cut down plastic waste and will be scrapping the plastic bags used to package loose fruit and veg from nearly 900 of its stores soon.
Instead, you’ll be able to purchase a 25p reusable bag or bring your own.
Aldi UK & Ireland’s plastics & packaging director, Chris McKenry, said: “We’ve already made good headway with removing and replacing avoidable plastics across our product range, but now it is time to step things up when it comes to bags and providing our customers with sustainable alternatives.”
