Morris the Caterpillar is set for a very royal makeover as part of Morrisons’ plans for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee this summer.
The supermarket has unveiled their limited edition Clarence the Corgi cake, which features the typical Morris structure but with a resemblance to the Queen’s beloved pets at Windsor Castle.
Clarence the Corgi will be made up of the usual chocolate-coated swiss roll cake, and will come complete with red, white and blue sprinkles, little boots, and a Union Jack crown to top it all off.
A Morrisons spokesperson said: “Morrisons’ Clarence the Corgi cake will join Morris the Caterpillar on shelves in stores nationwide on May 21st, ahead of the thousands of street parties planned across the country to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee.”

Rachel Fish, Cake Creator at Morrisons, added: “We’ve created this special cake to pay tribute to the Queen, as the country celebrates her Platinum Jubilee this summer.
“We had great fun coming up with names for the cake but think Clarence, as chosen by our customers, is a fitting tribute.”
The cake will be available in all Morrisons stores from May 21st and will cost £6. It will serve around twelve people, making it the perfect table addition for those many Jubilee street parties.
And Clarence the Corgi isn’t the only thing lined up to mark the Queen’s seventieth year on the throne; there will be four days worth of celebrations this year, including two extra days off across the May bank holiday weekend.

Other celebrations that weekend will include a Platinum Pudding Competition, which will be judged by baking royalty Dame Mary Berry.
And between the dates of May 12th-15th, the ‘spectacular’ equestrian display A Gallop Through History will showcase horses from across the globe in a ‘personal tribute to our monarchy’.
There will also be a celebrity-packed Party At The Palace – those lined up to perform at the show have not yet been named, but it has been hinted that some of the biggest stars in the world will be in attendance.
